Google posts Android 7.1.2 Nougat factory images

Enrique, 03 April 2017

Not too long after Google began rolling out the newest (though incremental) Android 7.1.2 Nougat update, Google has gone all out and posted the official factory images for various Nexus and Pixel devices. This all happens only a couple of weeks after Google began pushing the final 7.1.2 Beta build for similar devices.

Full factory images of these latest builds are available for: Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, and Nexus Player. Neither the Nexus 6 nor the Nexus 9 have been updated to 7.1.2 as their product cycles indicate they will only be updated with security patches from here on out.

If you’ve already downloaded and installed the OTA on your Google Pixel or Nexus device, there is no further action required on your part. A device’s factory image can be used to reset a modified device or can be used to manually flash an update that is otherwise not arriving via OTA update (this method should only be attempted by those of you who know how to use fastboot.)
