Even so, you wouldn't need newer Android versions. I use a Nokia 8 with Android 9 Pie, and it's completely capable with modern apps and doesn't look or feel far off from Android 12. And Google play updates are there, at least until 2030 for my phone, which is definitely a good reason to keep your phone for longer too.

You can consider getting a newer phone later, but it isn't worth it imho. You might have better expenditures in your life than a mobile phone. Nothing different, and nothing gained for practicality.

I wouldn't say the same thing with laptops though, as they can be considered good investments when the hardware becomes cheap as chips. Even though most parts are soldered, there's a bit of a flexibility with RAM and SSD upgrades. There are some others like the Framework laptop, with a well put out modular design, making everything easier, even for the end user.

Do you mind if i upgrade from this phone to pixel 8 or pixel 8a?. If i dont upgrade maybe i would lost my phone value and price and lose opportunity. And if i upgrade maybe i would waste my money for useless and unnecessary and minor upgrade.

I think it was even better than this in details and realistic photos and specially zoom. The zoom of this phone is terrible when i zoom i will lost so many details and colors. I work whole day with phone. Pixel 6a Battery will just give 7-8 hours screen time from 80 to 20 percent that is not enough for me. Although maybe it would lasts 1 day if i use from 100 to 0 percent but i dont want to damage battery. However I'm not sure and i respect your opinion. Maybe Other phones are like this and i am perfectionist but camera and battery of this phone didn't satisfied me. Other than these, i love this phone.

I have it. I think camera is so overrated. And battery is so bad. I have to charge it twice a day in moderate use.

I've bought this phone second hand for about $280 still with a 20 month warranty and I love it. As a previous owner of LG G8X I wanted a waterproof phone with a good camera and smaller form factor. I tried Motorola Edge 40 (don't like the curved screen), Asus Zenfone 8 (too small) and this Pixel 6a fits my needs perfectly. I like it's shape with sharp corners, which helps me to hold this phone really well even when using gloves in my work as a gardener. I use a Spigen Rugged Armor cover. Battery is very good, easy 1,5 days of nonstop 5G data on, fingerprint sensor works really good and the system is super snappy and responsive. Android 14 works great. I'm really happy with this purchase so far and can't recommend this pohone enough for any user with limited budget.

Fingerprint sensor is awful, i've tried all fix, fail rate still very high. I'm using pattern unlock instead.
It's so annoying that I'm thinking of changing to another compact phone, even though the photos won't be as good.

I have owned this phone for a while. Got it from Metro for 50 bucks and they unlocked it after 6 months. It heated up the first month but a software update seemed to solve that. Sure, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles but the processor is solid. I am a fan of 6 inch powerhouses and this fits the bill. I don't like trying to keep up with a baby flat screen as a daily driver. I use an OG Note 9 while at home for reading or for when I don't want to crank up my laptop. I look forward to the Pixel 8a. I hope they don't change the formula much.
