Gurman: iPhone 16 series to gain exclusive generative AI features

Michail, 13 November 2023

Apple is taking its time with iOS 18 development and a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggest next year’s iPhone 16 series will come with exclusive generative AI features which will be the key selling points for the new devices.

The new report does not reveal any specifics on what these AI features will do but we can assume they will be similar to what Google and Samsung are doing with text-to-image generation, the ability to summarize documents and translate content among others. Apple is also rumored to be using its own LLM model to overhaul Siri.

The iPhone 16 series is not expected to come with major hardware changes and Apple will try to push the new AI features as the key selling points for its upcoming devices. The iPhone 16 series is also expected to launch with the Apple A18 chip across all four models.

The Pro devices are said to feature a new Capture Button located on the right side near the power button. Other leaks point to a smaller Dynamic Islands and a 5x optical zoom camera on the 16 Pro device.
