Here's when Apple Intelligence will finally arrive in the EU
Apple has now released iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1, along with macOS Sequoia 15.1. The thing all of these software releases have in common is the presence of the first Apple Intelligence features. For now, these features can be accessed "in most regions around the world", Apple says, when the device and Siri language are set to US English.
Those regions don't seem to include the EU, however - at least not for iOS and iPadOS. Apple says Mac users in the EU can access Apple Intelligence in US English with macOS Sequoia 15.1. Apple Intelligence will become available to iPhone and iPad users in the EU in April.
Call summary, an Apple Intelligence featureThe rollout "will include many of the core functions of Apple Intelligence, including Writing Tools, Genmoji, Siri redesigned with richer language understanding, ChatGPT integration, and more".
There are unfortunately no additional details at this time, but we at least now have a release time frame for Apple Intelligence in the EU on iOS and iPadOS.
Apple is being cautious about introducing Apple Intelligence to the EU because of regulations such as the Digital Markets Act (DMA), trying to avoid breaching said regulations, all the while EU officials are slamming the company for doing just that.
