The moderators clearly state "be polite and use common sense" when posting comments. If a brand didn't serve you well, it's your responsibility to contact them and make them aware of their wrongdoing. You clearly haven't complained to them, and neither have you made the community aware about what issues you have been facing.

You know you can directly complain to them via email, right? They aren't a large scale company that basically ignores whatever complaint or communication they receive.

If your phone didn't serve its purpose, you can ask for them to reinstall the firmware for you for free, as long as it isn't considered a hardware issue. Bashing while not taking the necessary actions is basically a waste of your own time and energy. Send it to repairs and give an update on how they handled the situation. And in your own words, "Your ignorance isn't the phone's fault".

This phone is very good. Mine is working flawlessly. I did remove the back cover just for the sake of trying and finding out how easy it can be.

Despite all trolls on this site telling how bad the phone is, I'd say ignore them, and get yourself a Skyline if it's on your shortlist because you'll be amazed by the quality.

          Definitely worth recommendation.

            Hyper good

Don't listen to hmd fanboys and relatives, these ai bots are programmed to talk good about their phones, my nokia 6.2 got destroyed and rendered unusable as soon as i updated to android 11. On android 10 it was blasing fast. Now it's like a galaxy s3, unresponsive and very bad. I did many factory reset and it didn't help. I will always talk against this company. They slowed down my phone on purpose.they didn't expect i would go buy a infinix afterwards.

Xenotyro, 31 Aug 2024In this case he is right, the Nokia XR20, X20 and X10 have ... moreDepends on how you see it. Either they're being inconsistent, or they use their MENA market phones as their beta testers.

There may be any sort of legislation towards why MENA regions may get software upgrades, and I don't think Nokia is a major player in that market, considering why they may treat their niche market there differently from the rest of the world.

While I have proof to validate my claim, it wouldn't be both financially and practically feasible for me to send a collection of grey imported units from the other side of the world to your doorstep, under this economy with massive shipping charges and import/export restrictions.

Usually, the MENA and Indian variants are the first to receive Android upgrades. I'm not sure why they decided to omit those, considering that those markets have already received the update (not including India, as the X series was apparently not released there). The ones retailed in our country are grey market devices for the MENA market, as the C series and G series are sold here officially.

If you need the update, you can simply use a VPN to download it, something I recommend to those wanting the latest firmware, regardless of the market.

I don't think you'll need to change phones anytime soon. You aren't obviously using a disposable Cortex-A53 based slab that is about to be obsolete at any given moment, and you wouldn't want to hold accountability to being a part of the e-waste issue. Just stick to it, and if the battery becomes an issue, just get a Si-C or Li-Po battery compatible with the battery dimensions and you're good to go.

The telephoto camera and the easy battery repairability are really attractive for me. Since the capsulated phones with stupid glass back panels I am constantly anxious that the battery will fail and I need to throw away otherwise perfectly working device.

I received a build update for the Skyline yesterday, no detox mode yet but the front camera now supports 4K video, and 'Steady Mode' (I guess hybrid OIS/EIS) which was previously limited to 1080p is available for 4K recording on the rear cameras.

At least! The HMD Skyline, a unit with a flagship specifications and affordable price. Welcoming Nokia to the real market game!
