As far as I can see, this phone has two bugs (software).
First is auto rotation which is not working after some time, you have to reboot your phone.
Second is print screen(knock knock). This isn't working too, reboot is required often and then everything is ok.

My phone is running on the latest version e mui 5
Nougat 7 latest build FRL02C675B350. It's working fine. Try that from plastered.

Honor 8 has become a nightmare to me. I was prompted to upgrade not knowing that Im destroying my phone that I have barely owned for 3 months.... Now I am stuck not knowing what to do with my handset jus showing a frustrating screen refusing to go

This will solve the issue of updating your EMUI.

the camera is ok especially in bright settings but for low light situations, it's not that great. Since the camera doesn't really matter to me anyways, it's a little better than when I had the Nexus 6
it does for me on tmobile
it doesn't lag and being that it's last year's model, games don't stutter. They stuttered on my old nexus 6 and it's funny that since the nexus 6 has a bigger battery, my honor 8 outlasts it as I use it as much as I did when I had the nexus 6. I think because it has a smaller screen and less real estate, the battery lasts longer even though it is slightly smaller
no, I thought that by downgrading from a 6" screen to a 5.2" screen, it would be too tiny to work with but in fact it's just right plus it easily fits in a pocket when you've also got a large wallet to deal with too. So it's not fumbling around between my wallet and my phone plus I like the fact the honor 8 has a flat body so that it rests flat on a table or other surface. The nexus 6 had sort of a curved body so if you tried texting with the phone on a desk, it would wobble.
yes it is better than the honor 6x since the processor is faster on the honor 8. I was looking at both the honor 6x and honor 8 and glad that I settled on the honor 8. I wasn't too fond of the EMUI 5 interface but I ended up downloading the google now launcher so that it looks like stock android like it did with my nexus 6. Otherwise I would've used the Nova launcher. I don't deal with the slippery surface of the glass casing because I picked up a nice rubberized case for it so it easily grips in my hand and on any surface...got a slim one so that it doesn't make it look like a thick brick. Even with the case on it, I can still easily plug in my headphones and I can still hear sounds clearly. The downside to the honor 8 is the mono speaker on the bottom. I'm so used to the dual speakers on the front of the nexus 6 but I'm using the phone less and less for youtube. I only use it for listening to the Iheart radio app
