Honor 8S arrives in the UK while Honor 10, 10 Lite, and View 20 get discounts

Huawei sub-brand Honor has released a new smartphone in the UK. This isn't a high-end device like the Honor 20 that should be launching imminently. Instead, the Honor 8S is a very cheap basic smartphone, that will set you back only 99.99 at Amazon, SIM-free and unlocked of course.

For that amount of cash, you get a 5.71-inch 720x1520 LCD touchscreen, the MediaTek Helio A22 SoC at the helm, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, a 13 MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 5 MP selfie snapper, and a 3,020 mAh battery. It runs Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9 lite on top.

If you're thinking of going with something a bit more high-end, perhaps one of the deals Honor has prepared may interest you. First off - in light of the impending launch of its successor, the Honor 10 can now be had for just 249, 150 less than when it launched (and than what the Honor 20 is going to cost).

Or you could go bigger and snatch up an Honor View 20 for 369.99 (with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage) or 449.99 (with 8GB/256GB), in both cases you're saving 130.

Finally, the Honor 10 Lite has been discounted from its usual 199 price to 169.95, so you can save a cool 30 if you grab one now.

Let's hope that the Honor 8S does better than it's predecessors in the UK. The Honor 8 was left on Android 7 with no sign of updates, and the Honor 8 PRO was left on Android 8 and no updates. I'll never touch Honor phones again for that sole reason.

Discounting the old ones to make room for the new ones and think its a good price
