To those deciding between Honor 8 Pro and Honor 9 (which I myself had to do in the past), I have owned both phones now and in my opinion it depends on whether or not you will like having a larger phone.
Honor 8 Pro is a better phone in use - 1440p display, more RAM - but it was way too large than was comfortable for me. The screen also has a blue tint that was a little bit annoying, but not too bad. The increased resolution does look better, but 1080p didn't feel like much of a downgrade from it.
So if you don't mind (or are looking for) having a phablet, then go with the 8 Pro. However, if you would prefer a smaller one - or like the front-facing fingerprint sensor - then go with the 9. Just bear in mind, right now there doesn't appear to be a way of showing an on-screen navigation bar for the 9, so you'll be stuck with the capacitive buttons.

Bought an honor 9 New open box, I checked with support the warranty was still valid, they said yes no problem its all active.
Well 4 months later lost all network signal spoke to support they then arranged collection of the phone for repair.
They are now saying its not covered by warranty they won't fix the phone and are trying to charge me to return the broken phone to me..
Disgusting will never deal with these bunch of con artists.
Shame as the phone was good right up to the point it broke and became useless.

Front camera isn't that bad but if you're looking for a great selfie camera you should look for other devices.
Xiaomi Mi6 is a great phone, the performance it delivers is very close to Honor 9's but it has a worse front camera and the rear one doesn't capture as much detail as Honor's, although if you're going to be filming 4K at night Xiaomi may be the better choice as it has OIS (I'm not saying it has a bad camera, it's actually great and one of the best in the market, but if you're looking for the best camera at it's price range Honor is certainly make you happier). Despite this, it is a very good smartphone and if you're looking for great performance and a phone to last it is a great choice.
I can tell you I bought a Honor 9 3 months ago and I'm very pleased with it so far, never got any sorts of lag and camera performance is great when it comes to rear camera photo and video. The display delivers you a great punch of colours and great brightness, even outside in sunny days.

NedimTZ, 14 Dec 2017A question for people who use this phone? How good is front... moreto be sincere i dont like the back and front cameras and i have come from the nexus 5 that does not have the best camera around.
so when changing to honor 9 i expected to notice some improvements and honestly i did not.
important note:
(obviously the cameras are far better than the ones on my nexus 5, but i mostly take pictures without flash, sometimes in low light scenarios, so my opinion is about those conditions of course).

Anonymous, 19 Dec 2017does it have heating issues?I have mine for a few months now (may since september) and i have been using a protective case and tempered glass and i has not experience heat problems. only heats when i view movies, probably the graphic card heats, but not a burn hot. regards.
