Honor 90 Lite arrives with Dimensity 6020, 100MP camera

The Honor 90 series made its debut in China at the end of May and the pair is preparing to go global on July 6. But before that could happen a third model made a surprise appearance – meet the Honor 90 Lite.

This phone is powered by the Dimensity 6020 chipset that is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. That’s double the memory of the Honor 70 Lite (the 80 series never got a “Lite” model, though there was an “SE”). If you wish, you can add 5GB of virtual RAM for a total of 13GB.

Another major upgrade is the display – it grew to 6.7” and now has FHD+ resolution (up from 6.5” HD+), also it now offers 90Hz refresh rate (up from 60Hz). A punch hole houses the 16MP selfie camera.

Speaking of cameras, the main module on the rear has a 100MP sensor with an f/1.9 lens. It’s no match for the 200MP module on the Honor 90, but it is double the resolution of the camera on the 70 Lite. Also, the new model is also equipped with a 5MP ultra wide camera. Video recording is unfortunately limited to 1080p.

The phone traded some battery capacity for faster charging and comes with a 4,500mAh power cell that can hit 55% charge in half an hour if you have a compatible 35W Honor SuperCharger. The new model is lighter and much slimmer, measuring 179g and 7.48mm.

The USB-C (2.0) port is the only wired connection on board and can be used for headphones too (with an adapter). The phone carries both Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certifications. There is a fingerprint reader mounted on the side.

The Honor 90 Lite is already available in several European countries. In the UK it has an MSRP of £300, but is £250 right now and you can pick either a free Honor Band 7 or a free Honor Earbuds X5 (valued at £50 and £40, respectively). In France the price is €300 and comes with a €50 coupon and free Earbuds X5. In Germany, the phone is €300 again but the coupon is for only 5% off (you still get the free buds, though).

Honor 90 Lite is available in Cyan Lake, Titanium Silver and Midnight Black
