I'm interested in Honor Play but I read somewhere that the audio volume level is pretty low with headphones plugged in, and that it overheats easily. Can anyone tell me how true this is? Thanks.

Hey guys, so i'm confusing between Honor Play and Apple's 6s plus which has been released for 3 years, which phone should i buy to use it in over 2 or 3 years?
yet the A9 and iOS are no doubt to be very smooth 'til this time, but i don't know whether it will be supported for 3 years or not. I usually don't playing game that much (i still do), but also want to have a smoothest experience.
Thanks if you gonna reply to my cmt! :)

I have upgraded from the original Huawei P8Lite (ALE-L21, released 3 years ago) to this beast of a phone, Honor Play.
It has been 10 days since I bought this phone.
Got it at a flash sale for ₹19,999. 4GB+64GB, COR-AL00 variant (got it in India that's why). No NFC, no FM Radio. Out of 64GB you get about 55GB free.
No headset in the box as usual. But the bundled clear case is actually not that bad! It is tougher and definitely does not feel cheap. In my opinion, buy the phone first and after unboxing it you can decide whether to buy another case for the phone or not. Just that the case does not have *extra* corner protection (but it is still protected anyway).
Now coming to the features:
1. Camera is good enough for this price range. Bokeh mode shows some clear cut corners, and I like the cut and blur. Low light is pretty bad, but there is the night mode which requires around 30 seconds to 1 minute to snap (requires tripod stand/putting your phone against a wall or sturdy object so it doesn't move)
Selfie camera is good too.
AI mode does over saturate pictures a bit. I recommend taking pictures with the AI mode switched on because when you go in the Gallery you can switch off the AI mode after you take the shot. But if AI mode is off, you can't switch AI mode on again in the Gallery.
Overall, camera is not the /BEST/ but it is fine due to its other features.
2. Gaming is what this phone is meant for. I play PUBG on the recommended HD-High Graphics-Realistic combo or whatever and it plays amazing. I'm very happy with the gameplay. No lag, no stutters, nothing. I tried playing Vainglory, Asphalt 9, PES2018 and FIFA Mobile and all work perfectly.
In India you will get some Gameloft games pre-installed like Asphalt Nitro, Spiderman Unlimited, etc. which can be uninstalled.
3. Battery backup is good. Every PUBG match I play does drain about 3%-6% (half an hour Classic matches). It does have a huge 3750mAh battery that charges approximately 1% every 50 sec-60sec (so 0%-100% in around 1.5 hours).
Switching on Game Suite with Game Acceleration is not necessary, but it drains more battery (optimises phone for gaming mode that's why)
4. In these 10 days I have received 3 updates - 1st update was for updating software to Oreo 8.1.0 and EMUI to 8.2.0, 2nd update was for GPU Turbo and third update was for 4D Smart Shock (this smart shock feature is very helpful in PUBG, it vibrates when it detects people shooting at you so you can run away to find shelter)
5. The phone does not feel huge at all. I upgraded from Huawei P8Lite 2015 (ALE-L21) which had a 5 inch display and this Honor Play has 6.3 inch display but it is taller than P8Lite by only a few centimetres. I love the feel of the phone in my hand. You can even change if you want the display to be HD or FHD+ to save battery. I did not see any difference, but I keep it at HD to save battery.
6. LED notification light is below the earpiece so you cannot look at it from the sides. Notch display works very nicely to provide about 6.1 or 6.2 inches fully for your own needs.
7. Face detection and fingerprint sensor work very well.
8. The phone comes with a matte back so your finger prints will stick on the surface and it is hard to remove the prints. Put a cover soon on the phone. If you are fine with using the phone without a cover, it is alright. The camera module pops out a bit though.
9. No heating issues. Charger works perfectly fine also.
10. Apps load very fast on the phone. Ideally you will have 2GB-2.5GB free out of 4GB RAM. App installations take less than 5 seconds and heavy games like PUBG load under 15 seconds. EMUI 8.2.0 is also really nice and colourful and smooth. BIG upgrade from EMUI 4 on P8Lite, my old phone.
That's about it.
Ask me any questions if you want to.
