Has anyone successfully installed Skype or Yahoo messenger? Is it possible to watch TV via internet on it? I haven´t managed yet.
To: Kerim
I personally use it with a 3G simcard mainly for mobile internet connection (of course unlimited data plan an no roaming) Internet is a must for using GPS,unless you download maps.

Hi Tieh,
Alarm does not work when handset is switched off. Its more to do with WM platform.
My experience with camera is good. But this is in comparison with other WM phones.
If u want good camera then you have to opt for SE or Nokia handsets. But then you miss so many other things

Hi Sammy,
Care to elaborate why you say the camera sucks?
Btw, this phone has photo-calling function? Btw does the alarm still activate when you switch the phone off?
Thanks

@Nxsf:
The HP iPAQ 600 Series Business Navigator is released under several model numbers with the same specifications. 610 is the model number in the U.S. 612 is the model number in Asia, and 614 is the model number in Europe. The "c" denotes the presence or the absence of a 3.14 Mega Pixel camera.
Examples:
610: iPAQ Business Navigator without a camera and released in the U.S. market.
614c: iPAQ Business Navigator with a camera and released in Europe.
There is ONLY ONE model of the iPAQ 600 Series Business Navigator, and that model DOES NOT have an FM radio. The same device is just being released under different model numbers that's all
Finally, the phone hasn't been released in the U.S. until now because in June 2007, the U.S. International Trade Commission blocked the import of new cell phone models based on particular Qualcomm microchips. They found that these Qualcomm microchips infringe patents owned by Broadcom. Broadcom has also initiated patent litigation in U.S. courts over this issue. This device has two microchips manufactured by Qualcomm, the DSP chip that handles phone calls, and the GPS chip.
For the full specifications of the device, check the following URL:

The reason why the phone hasn't been released in the States:
"In June 2007, the U.S. International Trade Commission blocked the import of new cell phone models based on particular Qualcomm microchips. They found that these Qualcomm microchips infringe patents owned by Broadcom. Broadcom has also initiated patent litigation in U.S. courts over this issue."
The iPAQ 610/612/614c (same phone, different tags for different continents) utilizes 2 Qualcomm chips; DSP chip for managing phone calls, and the GPS chip.

Btw guys, it would be expedient if you could read the comments posted here:
http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index.php/2008/03/13/hp_ipaq_614_review#comments
I think there is a serious problem with the connectivity thingy here. I will wait for HP to sort this out first. Or maybe even wait for the 800 series as mentioned by one of them.
Cheers

looks like there are some confusion going on here. Website and what they said are confusing.
Btw, i will assess the price that it is coming out at. Would expect it to be priced at at least S$600 and above w/o contract. The lack of video telephony appears to be a big minus
