The switching of problem caused by the little switch that the back cover activates instead of stuffing it with paper I took the back of the hw6515 and hard wired across the switch with fine wire.
You will need to be carfull and use a fine soldering tip.

GPS takes forever to find satellites. I have drove my car for half an hour and it still couldn't tell me the location. Too big and bulky. Limited RAM capacity makes opening GPS software slow and u cant open anything else after that. Dun buy it. Yes, volume barely hearable.

george, 24 Jun 2009my question is , how can i erase some documents LIKE voic... moreIf you want to delete or erase a file, you need file explorer. You find it to tap: Start > Programs > File Explorer. Find the file you want to delete/erase with file explorer and select it (with te joystick or stylus) after this you need to press the blue botton (left under) and the delete/backspace botton the same time, your device will ask you if you really want to delete file and press yes. I hope you can delete files. Oh, sorry for my bad English, I'm Dutch

i have a gripe about low call volume - the only way i can carry on a conversation is on speakerphone, or headset. It is really annoying - even at the max setting the volume is barely audible in th e earpiece.
Does anyone have a similar problem?
Also the microphoe seems to work when it feels like. So i'm stuck talking on a headset, which is so lame...

good phone for it's money. only one thing - square screen is lack.
for guys, which phones reboot from time to time.
i had this problem, when bought phone, but solved it once and for all. you need to dissasemble it and fix small switch, which controlls back cover presence.
it can be clued to pushed position or fixed with some scotch or somehow else...
you can see it when you look to back cover. this switch is under right upper hole for cover to mount.
it's the only way to solve a problem with reboots and nang on's.
good luck.

This phone is a piece of crap, and HP knows it they just won't do anything about it. The battery cover activates a switch to turn the phone off and on when taking the back cover off. Over time it gets loose and just randomly shuts off and reboots. They've know this for a long time and just don't bother helping their customers out. It's too bad the phone has everything you could want but the build quality and customer service blow. Never buying HP again.

Have been proud owner of hw6515d for about 2 years now. I am amazed about how people say that it hangs all the time or how bad the build quality is.
I mean you are complaining that it restarts in the middle of a call? Or suddenly restarts itself? Or it shuts down occasionally? Did it ever occur to you that your phone may be broken?
Sure its old piece of hardware and its running outdated wm2003se but the occasional hang/delay od 2-3 seconds when browsing the menus or shutting down some application is quite normal for most of WM devices. There are exceptions of course like the newest models of HTC and Dell, but this phone is almost 4 years old.
Like I said I own this phone for 2 years and never had problem with it. It's build quality is superior compared to what the market has to offer today. Granted its a brick, but its a god damn granite brick.
Just one little tip in the end. You have to manually adjust the free ram/storage slider and ensure it has enough free ram to receive incoming calls if you are using some other application/game at the time. If you run out of memory you will experience sluggish performance or even freezes. This was changed in WM5 and newer versions just because the users couldnt understand how the memory management works. You simply cannot assign 6 mb of ram, run a game and expect to receive calls or anything like that.
