i have been using this phone from january 2009. It use long time to restart and get stucks to a place u never know what is the reason behind. I found this phone a little bit riskey. i use to wear jeans pent when i put my IPAQ in my pocket it suddenly shutdown no one knows the reasion. Using keypad of this phone is more frustrating u can not write an email or mgh with this phone easily deu to its hard keypad. phone settings get changed without no reason and some time the other person to whome u are calling could not hear your voice. I have seem much more problems in this phone with no active solution to all these problem. Battery gets drained within no time. All my money that i have spent on this phone wash into drain. See these issues before buying this phone or i will simply say. DON'T BUY THIS PHONE.

You guys dont know what you are talking about! Use GPS tuner 5.1 rev C make your own Maps that no other phone will let you Install. Keep in mind its not your desktop computer so dont think you can do everything on it at one time. 64 MB RAM gives you ample memory to use GPS and windows media and thats all you can use at any one time.

This phone is utter, utter rubbish. It repeatedly cuts out in the middle of calls. The GPS takes forever to find satellites and often won't sync at all (Other GPS's in the vicinity have no problem). The keyboard is very fiddly. When using GPS the battery drains v rapidly. Often the whole phone crashes and reboots for no apparent reason. Sometimes the system performs a reboot and loses all settings, going back to a factory condition. AAARRGGG! It has let me down almost every time I have relied on it. Never again will I get a) phone with a Windows OS on it or b) HP. HP must have known about the lack of reliability and stability but they still foisted it on an unsuspecting public. Shame on them. Total and complete rubbish that doesn't work as a PDA and is useless as a reliable phone - a (large) waste of money. Avoid like the plague....

I bought an Ipaq 6515 for my wife for her birthday Dec 07. It died in Feb 08, it was replaced under warranty but the second one was faulty with no backup battery showing. It would shut down and I would lose all stored info. (I was using it coz my wife was happier with her 10 year old nokia).
The second one was replaced under warranty, the third one I now have is also faulty, battery lasts around 8 hrs and shuts down at 30%. I believe that the warranty people for Australia are just rotating the faulty phones out to people, so my faulty phone has gone out to some other sucker who they hope wont notice the problem till too late.
I have asked for my money back on both the phone and Tomtom software and will never buy HP ipaq again. I have yet to get am answer on return of money but will take it to consumer affairs if they dont. Do NOT buy this piece of crap or any other Ipaq. I have now reverted back to my 10 year old Nokia, at least it works.

I have TomTom 6.0 loaded, but after a couple of boots/uses, the phone mic shuts off, making the phone useless. Hard reset cures it, but once the TomTom reboots it happens again - something to do with the TomTom voices...... any similar problems or suggestions?
Other than that, I love it!!

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2008Can i upgrade my hw6515 with windows mobile 5 and how?
ThanksSearch, and you will find that even Tomtom 7 is running smooth with the latest maps, 725.....
It should be installed like on a mio 162 or most other pda.
You will only loosse your sound, this can be repaired by changing the name of the file btcorelf to btfcorelfold and perform a soft reset. This file in your windows folder (menu show all files)
Good luck... it's easy and will run perfectly.
I use TTN_v7.451.9033_QVGA_Black you can downloadit and you should use a tt8_keygen2 with a meta file to activate your tomtom maps.

During an upgrade attempt of ROM from 1.12.00 to 1.22.39 on ipaq 6515h (using a patch available at HP), the ROM has been destroyed and all indications are that I need a full ROM flash. Does anyone know where to get a full ROM for 6515h?

SHP, 23 Jul 2008No, not worth it! it's an expensive piece of junk!(I had tw... moreI agree partially with you. Although the battery cover problem can be resolved. After an extensive search I found that there is an overly sensitive switch under the battery which gets triggered off accidentally. Just insert scraps of paper and the problem gets resolved. You can search it on Google and find a site with pictures explanation.
