Both camera were equally good, though Google's relies on better AI whereas HTC's relies on better hardware, so the Pixel's may have gotten better with updates.

Hi guys! Can't choose between HTC 10 and Google Pixel 128gb, which one would you recommend? The price for both of them (used) is less than 200$.
The things I don't like in Pixel phone:
1. fingerprint scanner on the back
2. big edges on the front
3. amoled display (can be bad for your eyes)
Howewer, the HTC 10 scares me with battery life issue and lagging.
Also I need really good camera and a reliable & solid device for a year at least...
Hope you can help me with some advices!

The HTC 10 is still a great phone in 2018. And it now has Android 9 Pie updates thanks to the XDA community. If you search for 'htc 10 los 16', the first result will bring you to the LineageOS 16 ROM: http://google.com/search?q=htc+10+los+16
Also the same developer ported AOSIP 9.0.

Anonymous, 27 Oct 2018Is HTC 10 still fast and smooth performer after the Oreo update??Yes, it is still fast.. i bought 1 from aliexpress, brand new, 189 US$.. it is nougat out of the box then i update to oreo.. performance is great, battery no problem.. i think the only problem is that sometimes google play store will hang in the middle of downloading or updating apps.. but otherwise its a great phone..

The HTC10 is one of the most recent phones released in the USA with the features that I want (small or medium display ~5.5in, lots of pixels (1440p screen), NFC, Android, and AT&T compatibility). It was great for nine months. Since then, HTC's support and its poor battery performance make me suggest that others avoid this phone. The battery failed after 14 months. Replacing the battery is difficult since it requires prying off the screen (I damaged the digitizer and was forced to replace the screen). Rumors are that it takes months to have HTC provide warranty service if anything goes wrong. On top of that, the last security update released by HTC was ten months ago, about ten months after I purchased the phone NEW from HTC. A custom ROM would grant security updated, but I believe it would disable Google Pay.
