Im planning to buy refurbished htc 10 au (japan operator),my question is can i update it to oreo or nougat while i live outside japan and don’t use au simcard? Please help me need suggestion 🙏🏻

Anyobe has HTC 10 - HTV32 (japanese version)
My htc. Does not show sim card contacts + does not allow me to save new contact in sim storage
+ it shows (0/0) as sim storage
Is it the same with you ???
*note : im out if japan. And im using other sim card carrer (not japanese sim)
I can make and receive calls + use mobile data normaly (unlocked)

Reminder :
The weight of the "HTC player" "v 8.10.826168" is 19.97 MB and not 11 or 12 MB .
In some sites ex: apk-mirroir ALL the 4 HTC players.apk is corrupt (poorly extracted)

If your HTC 10 does not work well after updating to oreo, example bug, battery, etc, make a system restore. After restore wait 5 minutes and after install the apk.
Examples: With the old Nougat, for me, 1 hour of music with the "htc player" = between 4% and 5% of battery.
Now with Oreo and "htc player" = between 1.8% and 2% battery for 1 hour
"HTC player" for HTC-10 ? Find on the net the version "v 8.10.826168". Older ones "HTC player.apk" do not work well, and consume from 5% until 12% !! for 1 hour and the phone is very hot.
Without Google play services, Google play, Maps, Photos, Facebook, (inactivates) maximum consumption 9% in 24 hours. (stand-by)

Anybody experiencing high battery drain and hot while using camera. Loose 23 mah in one minute while taking 10 photos. Compared it with my Moto x play it lose only 2mah in one minute with 10 shots.

If you interested in the best option for the money ,then it's op3t. So good camera, battery,solid body,loud speaker,the quickest ever,you can find it 128gb as well and black.then the best ui for me

my HTC 10 does not show (sim card contacts)
+ does not allow me to (save new contact on sim card)
+ show (0/0) as sim card capacity

is there anyone has the japanease version of HTC 10 (au - red camillia) and got the "android OREO update"??
+ if yes , does it face the same problems (battery draining fast, app craching......) as the other versions?
2- is there anyway to downgrade from ORED to NAUGATe ??

Got updated to Oreo after delaying for more than a month. Phone is much snappy now,os is more polished and smooth,no changes in camera department though there should be some like special effects in selfie mode. One difference i felt was taking photos in night it takes long to focus and time to capture shake is much noticeable. Tried HTC sense for a week but then switched back to Microsoft launcher feels much snappier than sense plus smooth as well. Battery time has surely gone down than before. Overall its nice.

Me too was confused year ago so got 10 for me and A9 for ma wife. Regret that now. A9 is slow and recently got camera issue (it makes motor like sound when u open camera).
