Phone hunter, 05 Sep 2010Can one install Google Street Maps on the Desire ? Also , ... moreNo problem at all with Desire (HTC Calendar should show weeknumber in month-view!). Desire is definetly better than SonyEricsson X10. Desire has 2.2, X10 will get only 2.1 at the end of the year, Desire has a stereo FM-radio, X10 has no FM-radio but you get a radio "on the side" in the package, Desire has multitouch, X10 has not because its hardware can not handle multitouch so you will not get it with 2.1.

Also , has anyone had any notable issues with the Desire ?
How does it compare to the Sony Ericssen X10 or the Motorola Live ?

After 4 months of usage, I'm still impressed by Desire. The quality and performance of this phone is superb!
The battery life has improved over time, so now it lasts 2 days on average for me.
                            The connectivity is top notch.
While the new SLCD screens are out, I still prefer AMOLED, because of its colors and viewing angles.

Francis, 05 Sep 2010I have installed 2.2 but could not save the App. onto the S... moreNot all apps can be put on the SD card. There are a few ways to check though.

1: go to setting > applications > manage applications
In here, you click on the name of the app you want to move to the SD card, and if the app allows move to SD card, it will tell you in this small menu.

                              2. There is a great app called: App 2 SD.

It shows you which apps you can put on the SD card, and which you cant.

                              Option 2 is much easier.

                              hope this helps

I have been using this phone for last 3 weeks and its a heaven like experience. Works very fast. And with the power of Android Market and AppBrain.com it makes a breeze to find and install new applications.

Downside is its battery which did not last for more than 20 hours on Android 2.1, but when I upgraded to Android 2.2 the battery life improved. I don't have numbers right now but I believe that it improved at least by 30-50%.
