Anonymous, 28 Aug 2011please help as i have mine for about 7 months now and i can... morehi there,yes u can hate ur phone but dont hate htc desire,whats about before this months when u use it i mean when it was new?did u try to upgrade it or find out whats the problem....??
for ur help if u dont find anything do 1 thing backup ur device(by using usb and also sync it)then do a hard reset(u will find it in settings>sd & phone memo>factory data reset)remember everything u downloaded,ur contacts,sms...will be delelted and then u will gat a almost new ph again,the battery should get fell newer and try only install those apps u need,u can get a app manager or task killer to avoid battery draining by unused apps,then fully discharge the battery once(0%)then charge it full,hopefully u will get a better performance,and check ur battery isnt damaged already!thanks

please help as i have mine for about 7 months now and i cannot use it for more than 5-10 minutes doing basic stuff like internet as the phone keeps rebooting about 6-7 times continously, why is this? i hate this phone now as the battery dont seem to be a problem the phone just shuts down like its crazy...anyone having the same problem.

im a desire user for 6months now. and im still loving my phone. il try to answer ur question based on my personal opinion..
ok..
1.theres no built in task manager in desire cos i,personally, think that it is not a necessity when toggling between apps and functions. the desire do have a built in, should i say, Task Memory. just by holding the home key,8 of ur recently used app will be shown for u to access them again (not to kill them).
i believe task manager is not needed for desire is Intelligent enuf to manage which of ur apps should be turned off. 3rd party task managers are available but i dont personally use them... they'r, 4me, useless...
2.file managers...? hmm... why would you need 1 in desire? i actually downloaded a file managing app but i never used it. you would definitely place all ur files in ur mmc cos desire's memory isnt big. so i think using a file manager in a desire isnt relly needed..
3.launchers can be used by holding the home button in the home screen.. from there you'll be able to switch between home screens of ur preference. i previously downloaded and used for sometime a windows phone 7 launcher. it was great.. really feels like having wp7 home screen but the functionality of an android...
but now im back to the native sense... love its widgets..

Anonymous, 23 Aug 2011I ve an HTC desire and I can't use it for more than 4 hours... morehi there,yes htc desire has 1 power problem,since its a very high performing multimedia ph u need to do some sacrifice to use it like dont use ur ph unnecessary!yes if u always use it for hearing mp3s or watching vdos or playing games alltogether then u can not use any of the ph till date more then 4-5 hrs!!!
what i mean u can hear music for 10-12 hrs....or watch a decent vdo for 2-3 hrs......or play games for 1-2 hrs.....then u have to stop doing something like these and u will find ur ph alive like for a day ... yes u need to close all the apps u used perfectly(otherwise they will run in background and this is the main reson of draining the power!!)u can download a app like app killer and run that to clear all ur unused spps running,that will really help!!!
i do think i am also using my desire like u(for music,browsing,games...)but i am happy with the desire!thanks

Remon, 24 Aug 2011Hey....this phone is really great...works fast and has many... moreu can restart the ph and check it again,call vf if they have any problem or check ur area network...and there is another final way backup ur device that reset it(everything,files,settings will be del!)....it should work........

Hey....this phone is really great...works fast and has many application...but i have a problem...i cant get into the internet using my phone network... i logged today using a Wifi network and it worked fine but on using a phone network it doesnt work at all...can anyone help me or tell me about any precautions.
N.B: i am using a Vodafone network in egypt

I just switched from Samsung Galaxy Mini to HTC Desire, and a couple of questions -
1. No in built in Task Manager like Samsung? Why? I have downloaded ATM.
2. No built in file manager? Why? I downloaded ES file manager and Its the best.
3. In galaxy mini, there was a dedicated button(middle hard key) to toggle between various launchers. How to use ADW launcher in Desire after installing the same and how to toggle between the default HTC sense and other launcher?
