No doubt! NOKIA N8 is better than this with 12 mp carl zeiss lens + xenon flash..plus it has an instant 16gb of internal memory..there's no new in this set..i don't care if it's android or symbian OS what matters is that the feature a phones has..

ROMs that have been developed by a good dev will actually have the check for updates removed to avoid this, however some won't.
You can always go back to stock after rooting if you feel the need to go back by downloading and running the correct RUU. This will then enable OTA again.
However, rooted normally means you get the updates first if you went with a good dev.

I had my desire already for almost a year, still love it to the max! I had flashed several ROM, from sense to non-sense I see no point upgrading to another phone anytime soon, oh yeah when I compare to my friend's LCD(later) version, my AMOLED looks so much brilliant in terms of colour and contrast

exactly 7weeks with my desire.. no issues whatsoever, battery ok, browsing, audio, gaming ok.. everything great! tinkered with pdf and quick office yesterday, browsed every file, magazines, documents, etc etc, fabulous! can't wait for the gingerbread OTA, though froyo is still awesome.. i will have this phone for years to come!

Desire...1month and 21days...
still lovin it.. i just realized the other day that i can link my contacts to my fb account, then all of the infos in my friends profile became part of my phone book.. i was so amazed.. i can even do things in my friends fb wall,pics,etc.. all in my phone book...(im so dumb, its just now that i realized it)..
**take note.. it just "links" ur "chosen" contacts to their specific fb acct.
i personally dont like all my fb friends showing unnecessarily in my phone book so i had it turned off ever since (but u can do that if u want)....
after installing and using Keyboard for 2.3 for a while im still having a problem sometimes when texting (damn big thumb).. googled other options in keyboard for android and just installed Smart Keyboard trial (free version with stupid pop up at first use).. im liking it now for it has a lot of options for the keyboard and i love the keyboard theme (got the galaxy colored theme... dark keyboard with blue pressed keys.. cool!).. i just hope it'l be better than the Keyboard for 2.3...
im really loving my desire.. overall functions and features has always been amazing me since day 1..
simply the best.. better than all the rest...!!

You can then install a rom like GingerVillain (so you get gingerbread as well) then you can use A2SD+
If you want to keep sense then one of the insertcoin roms.
look at androidforums for advise.

[deleted post]i also hav gta4, i havent tried first person shooters yet.. have you tried god of war, heavy rain or assassins creed? the game plays cool. i buy my stuff at datablitz also. if u want cheaper games greenhills have 2nd hand games..and still in good shape..
galing... buti ikaw my nakita ng ibang my desire.. ako wala pa rin. i really think desire's that rare here..
i hope it would stay as it is, unlike nokia who've become a phone for the masses.

I'm using this phone for few months and its really one of the best I ever had. Except of the averege memory capacity and the Jarring speaker this is one of the best that money can buy.

Even after installing APP2SD not all application can be moved to SD card which cause really big issue to install more applications
I am limiting myself to few application and sometimes I uninstall from my phone to get new one .. this not right
any solution?
