Update to marshmallow...all problems solved.. because after the update you can extend your internal storage by integrating your external sd with internal memory. And now you can fully move third party apps to external card slot of internal memory.so you will have lots of space now... so all you have to do is update...

tarun, 17 Mar 2016not a good phone. i have it for past 12 months. problems th... morewell, this is pretty old phone now, 3 years old! People are not even going for Apple 5s, then what is HTC!
But then i am a very happy user, using it since more than 2 years and so far not a single issue!

I did the same yesterday and now am on Marshmallow version.

not a good phone. i have it for past 12 months. problems that i regularly face -
1. it heats up during charging. ,,,i mean...literally heats up....u can't hold it in your hand.
2. sim lock keeps going bad every 2 months. service centre keeps phone for 3 days and change the whole chasis. funny ?
3. camera just dosent want to click. 3/10 times. bad luck
dont go for it. NEVER.

got the notification for android 6.0 update. but couldn't update. it keep saying insufficient space. i have 1.6GB free space. any help would be highly appreciated.

One big problem for me is that as videos and music stream great, anything I play from my storage skips and stutters. I've tried multiple video and mp3 players, none work.has anyone else had this problem? If so has anyone figured out a solution.this renders my music and video storage completely useless. Please help

My HTC Desire816d is still running KitKat 4.4.2. And I want to update the os to Marshmellow. Is it must be updated to Lolipop first before getting Marshmellow update? Or maybe it is just because the Marshmellow update isn't available yet in my country (Indonesia)?
Because when I check software update on settings, it just show Lolipop update option, still no Marshmellow update yet :(
Is there anybody know about this problem...?

best update so far
guys i finally updated my fone{desire 816 india} to marshmallow.
this is a perfect update
perfomance boosted a lot
no lag so far
battery backup has a stellar boost means battery backup has increased a lot.
volume of speaker and ring tone has increased
also u have the option now to make external storage to integrate with ur internal storage.
means ur internal is 4 gb and have a sd card of 16 gb then it will show 20gb approx internal space.
yes it can be used to install games as well
important thing is u have to take the fastest card possible for lesser heat as external cards are inferior to internal memory
and second thing u wont b able to remove that card as it is part of internal now.
although u can switch it back to portable one
but for both u have to format the card so backup card first on your pc.

I have using this phone for more than 1 year and half. This phone still perform great (still using KitKat 4.4 (for me it's the most efficient Android version for performance, and battery life), battery life still pretty good, my rear camera used to had a problem, it used to be blurry :( but luckily it turn back to normal again and still take good photos, dual front-facing 'boomsound' speaker still sounds great & quite loud, and this phone doesn't easy to get hot.
But unfortunately, this phone still not a perfect phone. There are some cons, there are 2 cons. FIRST, the internal storage. After for system, and stock app installed, it just provide us about 4Gb available of internal storage :( It doesnt seems enough for phone at these days. Even for me now, it just has only 500Mb availabe internal storage... If only this phone has 16Gb internal storage, it would be a much better, moreover if it has 32Gb, wow this phone could be a leading mid-range phone. SECONDLY, the Wifi. I don't know is it just happened to me or also happened to others (is there anyone that has a smilar this problem?). After more than 1 year and half using this phone, my wifi now takes a long time to turn on it. It could be more than 1 minute to just turn it on. Even these lately day, it's often that after the wifi already turned on, it went off again-_- And it did it again & again several times until it get really connected to wifi that already remembered. But when it connected there is no problem with it. I tried to came & asked the HTC service center. And the staff there told me that the wifi hardware inside my phone is already weak now. The staff told me the problem either my phone often to use wifi, or maybe other problem. And the staff said that the service will change the mainboard (can't just only the wifi hardware part only). Unfortunately my warranty is already over, and if I want to service it, it will cost 1,3 Million Indonesian Rupiah (100.1 USD). For just only wifi problem, I think that cost a lot :( So I decided to not take the service, and stay patient whenever I want to turn on the wifi haha.
But beside those cons upthere, after I used everyday for almost 2 years, overall it still stands pretty good :)
