hi! I got this phone two days ago and here in my area shopkeepers are asking more than 25k for this phone.. but I got it for 23600 as I had my friend working in HTC.. first of all I'll talk about screen quality... it's superb... natural colours and big screen... the design and build quality is seriously cool... slim and all my friends praised and few are going to buy same soon.. camera is good in day light and average in low light.. front camera is good too.. sound is not that loud as expected but quality is awsm specially when we tilt the phone.. call quality and battery is ok too.. buy this and you will forget Samsung grand 2. I compared it with grand2 today.. it has better screen and colours... plus bigger screen and design.. sense 6 is cool and it's much better than touchwiz.. the flat scrolling is awsm and feels premium... blink feed is just for show off.. I didn't like it much bt it increases the grace of the phone... headphones provided in box are redicilious... I didn'time them...charging takes 3 hours to get full from 0%. all over handset is pretty good and u will feel proud to show it in public and m sure many will ask hey which phone is that... many asked me this... it's design made me mad and screen too.. sound bhi.. go for it for sure..

Similar problem in mumbai cant find d phone newer d phone was available between 22,250-23000 bt nw nobdy has it.... Online its too expensive .. Mobile store offers for 23,000 bt is taking 15-20 days for delivery

@Jatin, There is so much scarcity of this particular mobile across the country! I can't find it easily in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Only 1 shopkeeper has got 2 pieces of it, and he is asking 24500 for it!!
Why is it still scarce? Even flipkart is pricing it at 24-26000. Will i be able to buy it for around 22000 anywhere?
I am not on a budget, but i don't wanna end up paying 2000 more because of artificial scarcity, which i think is a clever marketing tactic! People have posted in the reviews of flipkart, that desire 816 is available in delhi and agra for around 21000!
Please comment in detail.

What about it's battery which isn't detachable... that is worrying!
I've Galaxy S Advance, and it's battery inflated in less than a year. I spent about a month to get another one.What about HTC then.
Any way I wnt this mob.

For people to get more battery life by 10-15% ...disable blinkfeed...remove it if not needed..and kill unnecessary running apps or games if the phone is ideal...

I get 10 hour.. backup..
Rem my screen is always on.. bcz im an net freak :p.. n all the time whatsapp n browsing.. no game+music
Dnt knw abt dat line.. i surely tll you after checking my other desire 816..
Yp cover is needed.. tge free flip cover is nt gd.. u cn find the covers in 1 week online n in local shops..
yp screen guard needed.. n who hv gorilla glass they also take screen guard :p
Soo.. u mst use screen guard.. frm the vry frst day :)..
N surely update about the vertical line after checking mine other desire 816.. till den enjoy ur beast..
N if think battery is nt gd.. den plz kindly go to srvc cntr n discs ur prb.. or talk to htc cstmr care

I love this beast but having few more doubts:
1. I have downloaded updates for HTC gallery yesterday which promised pan360 & other features for sense 6.0 device but after downloading it i didnt find any changes in gallery..
2. need a good back cover which can show the real beauty of this mobile..the company provided flip cover is hiding its beauty completely...
3. good scratchguard as it doesn't have gorilla glass?
