I dont think that price will fall easily. As htc is in loss and this handset is last hope to them. If there will be poor sales of this phone then price will fall. Otherwise htc wants to get maximum profits from this.

Will price fall?..Its purely based on demand ... Again this model is exclusive becoz of dual sim... moment u compare it with single sim variants it gets tricky whether its price is justified. So i am not sure what demand it will attract.
Mobiles store is giving for 23000 now.. It shud settle around 21-22000 for next month .. not further I guess. Given its specs, it has to be slightly higher than samsung grand 2

That link confuses whther it will have gorilla glass.. i hope it does... but my best guess is that glas has to be strong as it is a large screen even if it is not a corning glass.

Indian Version of HTC desire 816 is releasing this month with dual sim. Model no "D816D". SIM1=(GSM/CDMA)both support 3G upto 42mbps & SIM2=(GSM)2G upto EDGE

Anyway - Guys please help me out in understanding whether this phone will have a strong glass equivalent to Gorilla Glass. Cuz I have seen non-gorilla glasses breaking too often.

Ya off course u have been waiting for a long time but I think there is a smart thinking by HTC. When there come changes that means something new must come. In India 16th May is important bcz ......
Simple yaar Modi is back n d whole India celebrates. So its a festive season for India nd same thing is also applied for HTC. Good luck HTC desire 816 must heat.

The battery life of desire 816 is getting positive reviews.. but real user experiences are yet not there as people have not got phones in India..
Its not necessary that 50% margin is high (I dont mean it is low).. it also the amount of actual money margin thats required... So prices wud definitely lower down later.. This is not the best spec phone anyways..
