I have stuck with HTC phones since the Evo 3d. Thanks to the HTC desire 816 I now have a love hate relationship with HTC phones. I have now owned this phone for a year. I understand I went from a top range phone to mid, however, I am now on replacement phone #4 (love virgin mobile for this) Drops mobile signal (with no way to know you have no signal as data is still working, can be hours sometimes before you realize calls and texts aren't coming thru.) freezes, battery failure (phone randomly turns off for hours, hard reset doesn't work, plug in and doesn't see charger, phone is basically a brick, then turns back on and it's like nothing ever happened but battery life is shorter) the list goes on. Other than that I love the phone for its large screen, it's long battery life(when no issues), memory is lacking have issues even with SD card in. It is very picky with replacement cords, I an not just use any friends charger, I always carry my own. Each replacement phone they were willing to send right out so assuming these are all common problems. They told me the call dropping problem is more than likely the antenna, as there are 2 inside the phone(1 call/text, 1 data) Phone #4 still has issues (loses signal) and as soon as I can afford to do so, it will be getting rereplaced sad to say it probably won't be another HTC.
(Note: every phone had issues right out of BRAND NEW BOX none of the phones were previously used)

The HTC Desire 816 is an extremely good phone for longevity, it has even been upgraded to Android 6.0, extremely good considering it is now over 2 years old. The only two complaints I have about the phone, are that the battery, although more than adequate for daily use, does seem to degrade faster than most other smartphone batteries. The SD card is also an problematic area, as the software is extremely restrictive on allowing applications to edit the contents of the SD card, meaning third party file managers will not be able to modify the contents of the SD card.

Additionally, although HTC claims the battery is non-removable, it can be replaced quite easily, as the back cover only snaps on and is not glued in place. Obviously, this will void the warranty.

I have used this phone for over 1 year 3 months. The phone is splendid good on battery, sound and processor. However, it has two major issues that I had to take to seller twice unfortunately to avail. First, even though it has a memory card slot the moment you insert makes the phone malfunction until I had to remove and stay without. Secondly, the phone can hang and sometimes so bad that even the switch off button doesn't respond considering that its battery is inbuilt. These are serious manufacturer's problems that even a basic phone doesn't entertain.

I have it now for a year and a half. In general, it works okay, though it acts stupid. For example I have more than 200 MB more space in phone memory and want to download an app, but it says that there is not enough space (and so you know, the apps I want have small size).
Many times it works slow or freezes.
And what I want to highlight (and why I so don't like it anymore) is the camera. I don't think this is happening just on MY phone. The first thing is that when you want to make a selfie, the camera zooms your face so much!! And you cannot change it. It is so annoying and it's almost impossible to make a proper selfie. The next thing is that when taking regular pictures (not selfie), you must have patience or time, if I say it nicely. If the object (or you yourself) is moving just a liiitle bit, the picture is blurry!! It annoys me so much!! Like I have to stop and be really standing still to picture anything! So, THE CAMERA IS HORRIBLE!

Ok phone. Less than one year and the issue of automatic power off, screen freeze. Cannot hold many apps. Limit int memory. If not extensive mobile user then ok. Camera is good. Sleek mobile.
