I have purchased this beautiful phone a couple of days ago, so this is what I have found. First, it is a beautiful phone, lightweight and sturdy. Performance is great, screen is very good, cameras both front and back are good, video not bad either, sound is good, both with or without headset, but wished it was a little louder when used without headset. The heating that some raised up here did not happen with me, just the normal temperature and nothing out of the ordinary quite honestly. The battery too is quite OK, in fact I am quite happy with it using it alternatively with 3G and Wifi, does last me pretty much of the day. The quality of call sound too is very good. Even though this smartphone is priced as a mid-ranger, however what it offers as an overall package feels more like flagship rather than mid-range. Having been the happy owner of a Samsung Galaxy S4 Black Edition I.9505 till recently, replacing it with the Desire 820 has caused me no regrets, in fact I am enjoying this phone and it looks like it will stay with me for a while. Having no adverse experience with this phone, I would happily recommend to anyone who is looking for a good, well-built and dependable Phablet at a competitive price.

another important tip i forget to write if you are users of mobile data (2g or 3g)and battery lost fastly,then go to settings,power then on power saving mode,then scroll down and you will see sleep mode,enable it which automatically off your data when screen goes off more than 30min and saves battery,
so many users saying that htc battery backup is worst,to be honest its good compared to htc 816 and desire eye,trust me it gives easily 12 + hrs battery backup and stand by mode is excellent,so dont bother about battery go fot it ,it is the best phone right now,

How long does the battery stay with you guys???
Can it complete 20 hours if you are working on the internet only without playing games for example???!!!!

those who are facing heating problems,try using clean master,it has CPU COOLER which cleans only heating apps not other apps,i play games daily 2 to 3hrs after finishing i use cpu cooler then temp goes below 37c with in 2 to 3 min,if you dont belive me use it.
BATTERY TIPS:
if you want to increase battery backup use your phone till it gets switch off itself,then charge for 2 hrs or more you will definetly see 30 to 40 % of xtra backup.
2.always on power saving mode which reduces the cpu performance and gives good battery backup.
3.wait untill androd l update to increase battery life because 4.4 is 32 bit and our phone is 64 bit so 32 bit takes more power and gives stress on cpu.after android l we can expect battery life of about 1 to 2 days easily,
CAMERA TIPS:
1.if pics come in greeny with flash then go to camera settings,there you will see adjustments then click on saturation as it comes with 1(default) adjust to 0,and adjust contrast to 0,then pics come in good quality.
android l:
htc confirmed that htc 820 will get android l in q2 or q3(april to june)or(june to august),so dont worry about android l because our phone is FUTURE PROOF PHONE.

Where did you find that this phone have Gorila Glass protection? Because on official Corning Gorilla Glass web page this device is not on the list of phones with their protection.. I just bought it this week. Very good phone all round. Very happy with it except the battery life is rubbish!!!! I have a LG G2 and G3 and battery life is exceptional. I can't even get a 3/4 of a day out the 820.- Unplugged from charger at home and an hour and a half later after checking mail, facebook and reading BBC news the battery has lost 10% already! Check emails throughout morning and by lunchtime it's down to 61%. What? I really wish I had not bought it now.
