Yes it heats up...like other smartphones
A back case solved the issue for me.
I have used various smartphones
Xperia ZR,Xperia Z, Galaxy S2 , S5, Iphone4S etc
At this price...Just go for it

one word awesome ! Beast of a phone
great looks very thin
camera is brilliant both front and back...if you guys comparing this with note 4 or iPhone 6 then sorry...for the budget it takes brilliant pics esp in low light..this comes from a person who uses a note 3too
HTC sense 6 ui hands down the best in android currently no one comes as close..maybe Motorola
no lags no glitches..smooth played gta san andreas real racing 3and asphalt 8 smooth serene no lags..heating was persistent for ffirst week then it gradually cooled down so now its slightly warm only when playing games
upgradable to lollipop yes sir..expecting an update around march
the music interface is so beautiful with boomsound speakers...really cool...
WiFi and call quality is absolutely nice
great display even though its 720p 5.5 inch I could hardly make a difference between 1080p baring just the color
one issue i thought is with their ear phones not of good quality...Samsung had better sets ..though I just bought a harman kordon now its working like class apart
battery is decent moderate usage lasts u a day
heavy usage with intense multi tasking and gaming lasts you 14 hrs pretty decent that is bcuz it's got 2 power saving modes...bliss I tell you
I know there are some bad reviews...but I'm super delighted with my phone set..this comes from a person who shifted from aSamsung note to an HTC desire...worth every penny imo...go for it lads

I want to purchase HTC desire 820, so I want to know that it really has heating issue and does it affect the performance or creates problem.
I noticed from the feedback that it has a fast processor.
I want to know how much mb ram is free while unboxing and the app us transferable to SD card or not??

The front camera is just average 2 mp quality though they claim its 8 mp. the phone is fast due to 64 bit but at the same time it heats up also really fast due to 1ghz+1.2ghz quad core processors. The battery drains up very fast. And over all it looks very cheap due to poly carbonate body. So bettery think twice before investing 23-24k.

But....one thing....
Its the charger which I dont like at all
Someone please suggest the best one for me...
Is quick charge 1.0 by qualcomm supported?
Then I would go for it..But I m not sure
I tried the default htc charger (5V-1A) for 30 min it increased by 16%
Then Samsung charger(5V-2A) for 30 min it only increased
by 19% which I was shocked
But I learned later that its because the phone will demand a max of 1A
Anyways I wanted to try Sony CP-AD2 (5V-2.1A) charger because I heard lots of good reviews from many of it.

Evrthing about the phone is good...
Say camera both front n primary are xtreme awesomes
Very good performance, say RAM, processors, octa core, 64-bit, etc etc
Display is fine (267ppi is not recognisable) and good @5.5" HD
16GB internal has provided good support
Battery is a one day for exteme all type usage and you can get upto 1.5 days for jus than regular usage.
Extreme power saving mode is a boon. If you are in travel, put it on, and I promise it will last more than 2 days even with some photo capturing
Awesome dual loud speakers
Sleekish and stylish design
And more and more
I would surely say go for it at this price

Camera quality is good as much as 13mp
If any1 feels it is not that much,then they should try changing image quality in camera app
A still better option for you guys is Camera360 app from which you can select resolution to 13mp
I have tried all this in my d820 n feels my cam is awesom...n never worry night shots..coz cam is of good quality @ night ...

This is better phone bt not best...
Rear Camera quality vry bad... But front camera all most good... Battery is poor..

All things is good but htc desire 820 camera quality very poor it's 13 mp camera but it seems like 5 mp worst camera even micromax camera quality better then this and boom sound is good but bettry performance not good don't buy

Feel Cheated...!!! cant believe that brand like HTC can do such an error in the handset, their is an serious issue when it comes to music when i listen music in both headset or speaker there is a sudden itchy noise in the music which will definitely irritate you.The problematic part is I cannot go to service center and tell this because this itchy noise in the background is not always and fixed it occurs suddenly. im extremely irritated used all my savings and took this phone just looking at the specs thinking this will be super fone never thought such problem will arise in the handset given boomsound but what the use if you guyz cannot fix or test it right before selling to the end user. facing this problem from 2nd day of buying this phone.
