your phone gets slow because of trash and apps cache,try using cache cleaner,sd maid pro for better performance.for battery improvement follow the steps.
use your phone till battey goes to 1 % and let it switch off.
then charge your phone for 2 hrs and do this process for 4 to 5 times,definetly you will get 30 %better battery life.
to get more themes including change in icons wallpapers fonts etc,update htc sense in play store(new update includes theme support):)

i contacted htc,they said all desire phones including htc 820 is going to update in short period,update will start soon as per they said :)

Worst phn dont buy it.. I brought it two months back and facing serious issues with the charging. even after visiting HTC service station the problem is not resolved. Wastage of 25bugs..for this phn

HTC820 ringtone is not audible even wen the phone is in normal mode and ringtone volume is maximum. :-( plz help

For the heating problems try this.
In the Power saver menu, uncheck all the options except the CPU power(Conserve CPU usage).
4. Then go to Quick setting and toggle the Saver. (Don’t toggle the EXT Saver, they both are different.

i am using this phone since last 4 months... the battery backup sucks and overheating is horrible ... you cannot talk on internet calling more than 15 mints. when it is heated up it consumes battery very fast cannot play game for more than 15 minutes ..... my suggestion is please don't purchase..
