Anuj, 25 Feb 2015I bought the HTC Desire 820Q for my wife. A little backgrou... moreThe desire 820q also heats up while it is stressed... Like using the internet while charging the device tends to heat up for like 35-40 degrees... I dont know about The camera of the 820 but the camera quality of 820q is not that great... Just below average.... Also while using the device heavily it uses too much battery....

pankaj, 26 Feb 2015Can anyone tell about camera quality of 820q Camera quality is just a crap... First of all it takes very much time to even
focus at a picture... Than the quality is below average for a 13mp camera.... The pictures are not that good enough... The colour are not that good enough.... Both the front and the rear camera are the same.... Also there is a unushal sharpness in the picture which does not make them look good....

The price difference is just 3k so i was thinking 820 would be better with 2GB RAM n octacore processor but ive heard of heating issues on desire 820. But ur review has cleared confusion. I will go with 820Q. Hope battery life n camera performance is good compared to Samsung Galaxy phones is this range

I bought the HTC Desire 820Q for my wife. A little background check. I use a Xperia Z2 and an Mi3. For starters I wanted to buy my wife the Mi4 but girls you know BRAND matters and she loved the HTC 820 in first sight so be it. I went in with all force and tore hair over the new chipsets and found out that Octacores are still not ripe enough. Any Octacore you pick up be it Exynos , Mediatek Or Snapdragon they all have fault, the major one is heating and secondly this whole concept of switching cores as per work load is flawed deep inside. This whole stupid idea shakes the very integrity of the OS with the Hardware. And we dont need 8 threads please so stop selling craps but optimize the OS architecture. The prayer has been answered the 64Bit Lollypo is coming so no more RAM leakages and no more of that 2 and 3 GB RAM requirement. So all things considered the 820Q is a better buy and boy I was right. Excellent BAttery back up , No heating issues and Butter smooth and LAg free. HTC Sense is really well optimized.
For the moment avoid the 820 and get the 820Q. You wont regret.

rahul, 24 Jan 2015it doesn't matter about 1GB RAM cause it has a 64bit proces... moreExactly after Lolipop that 1 GB with 64 GB will work wonders. End of days for 2 and 3 GB rams ....linux issues.

Aki256, 23 Feb 2015How about the battery life of 820Q?It gives an satisfactory battery life.. if you use extreme power saving mode and use the mobile only for calls than you can easily strech it for about 3days... If you are a mid user than it may last you for about 1 and a half day but if you are a heavy user thab about maybe 22hrs or near to it.... (I haven't used it that much its just a guess)...
For me it manages for about more than 1 and a half day... But it goes dead after about 40hrs or so....

harsh, 21 Feb 2015Brother, plz suggest me which should i buy 820 or 820q Htc desire 820 is better than 820q because clearly 820 has a snapdragon 615 chipset and also 2gb of RAM as compared to 820q with snapdragon 410 and 1gb of Ram... But the desire 820 has very much heating issues... It becomes insanely hot upto 52℃ and anything more than 40℃ is very difficult to hold in the hand.... Also 52℃ was in winters dont know how much it would reach in summers....!! But 820q only heats up a little when its used heavily while charging else there are no heating problems....
