Since I haven't found a decent review for this phone, I'm going to attempt one. Alright so I have been using this phone for a while now, and it has lived up to my expectations of a mid-range device. Firstly, the design and build quality is nothing short of amazing, although the variants with the glossy back is prone to smudges. Well done HTC. However HTC should really reduce the size of their bezels as this makes an already large 5.5" phone even larger, reducing the device's day-to-day portability. The sleep/wake buttons and volume rocker is well placed for such a big phone and the buttons do feel quite good to use. The rubberized edges of the phone provide good grip for such a big device and up to some extent, may protect the device from drops and shocks. The Dolby BoomSound stereo speakers are concealed between the screen and bezel are excellent for watching videos and playing games. Although, the speakers aren't quite as loud as the stereo speakers on the HTC One (M8), they do provide superior clarity. Hearing during a call is quite poor at times and can be improved. I had issues with the proximity sensor while operating the device after a call, where the sensor would not turn off, as if still in a call. This resulted in the screen going into sleep mode each time my hand passed over the sensor, making it impossible to use the phone in landscape orientation. However, a quick reboot seems to solve this issue. The 401 ppi, full HD LCD display is crisp and has great outdoor viewing angles. Screen responsiveness has no issues with upto 5 finger multi-touch. The mid-range Snapdragon 615 SoC is quick and snappy, with only brief stutters during extremely low battery. The processor is only complemented by the 2gb of RAM that this device has, as a result, multi-tasking is fluid. The Adreno 405 GPU provides excellent gaming capabilities and can handle applications that require heavy graphics, quite well. The phone does heat up with prolonged use or during heavy usage of the GPU, but this is not really an issue. The 2600 mAh battery is quite small for a phone this size, but is surprisingly capable. The battery life does vary a lot, and I averaged about 3 and a half hours of screen-on time. The phone should last on low to medium usage, for a whole day without needing to re-charge. The 13mp front facing camera is great for selfie enthusiasts and shoots high quality images. The lack of auto-focus is quite frustrating and the lens is not very wide angled. Low-light performance is not all that great either, and maybe HTC's renowned ultrapixel camera may have been a better choice for the secondary camera. The primary camera, with the LED flash and autofocus takes some great pictures, and HTC provides photo enthusiasts with some great manual settings that allow changing of exposure and other factors. Overall this is a great phone with top-notch build quality and a definite improvement over its predecessors. The biggest opponent to this phone is however, the lower priced and more powerful Oneplus One with a near stock android experience. Although is you do choose to purchase this, it is a great handset. HTC fans will be pleased with this device and so will others. So do consider some options before buying this phone...
