I have even tried the "removing the battery for a while" thing but the problem only went away temporarily.
Now its haunting me again!!

If you are facing problems download the software again and extract using 7-zip or Winrar

If you want to upgrade your Htc Desire S go to htcdev.com and go to kernal source code select the device and android version 4.0 leave the carrier and region blank and got for the 404.0 MB one that has WWE (world wide edition) and download when that is finished then extract it and with your htc desire s plugged in run the software.

Hi guys,
If any one facing problem with battery back up u just install easy battery saver, easy task killer advanced from google play store. This is just double the battery
backup what your getting now in real time.

Nope,
you do it once and see the outcome, I even had the same hiccup like yours and at HTC they told me what I have told you and it worked for me. if it does not work for you go to the nearest next branch and find help. I'm using HTC Desire S and One X+ at the moment... HTC Butterfly here I come...
