Poncho, 09 Sep 2012ICS for HTC desire S has arrived in South Africa I saw the ... moreYou mean , did u receive a OTA update ?
As far as I heard, Desire S will not get any OTA update. Only RUU.
Guys,
1) While updating through RUU are u ppl loosing all the applications which were proeviously installed ?
2)Let me know what all needs to be backed up before RUU update ? like contacts, Messages alone I need. Do I need to do anything more ?

Zurc, 09 Sep 2012anyone tried upgrading it in Philippines?I think the ics 4 are notworking here n philippines, i try mny times and follow all the instructions but. Didnt work. Any one knows?

I have a problem with this Official RUU, when I change wallpaper with HTC Wallpapers, there's some blank pictures which can not be delete, did you facing same problem?

Just install htc sync first then download file from htcdev official site i.e. RUU_SAGA_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_14.01.401.2_Radio_20.76.30.0835_3831.19.00.110_release_275068_signed and run on pc as an administrator mobile should be connected to pc via usb cable. rest of work done by itself within 20 minutes. Best of Luck

How ever rest of performance is improved . Particularly sense , camera , new features are added , they are pretty handy as well.

Apart from Play Store which websiteS can one recommend to explore my phone to other stuff? I really recommend this phone with one year using all is great.

Has any one faced a problem of Facebook contacts not syncing when upgrading to ICS. I`m facing a peculiar problem that all my contacts are syncing to other applications like linkedin, whatsapp, gmail etc but not with Facebook. Please let me know if any one has a fix. I have checked in Settings-> Accounts & Sync. Facebook is syncing contacts however is not updating or asking me to link it.

Hey, I've updated my desire s to ics using the WWE version, but now I can't find my power saver options. And my phone doesn't enter power saver mode when battery is low. Can anyone help me?

upgrade of htc desire s to ics 4.0.4 is rockingly awesome! i don't recognize the gingerbread firmware after the upgrade, very far from the previous version when it comes to UI. You'll love it and never regret upgrading yours now. You won't even try to use different home launcher because this the stock launcher of the new version is fantastic!
only one flaw i have found in my upgrade though, the htc sense for the weather don't have "sounds" at all. :( i'm guessing htc missed this one. i hope they provide the ota update for this one.

ICS for HTC desire S has arrived in South Africa I saw the notification of a new software so I didn't hesitate. The phone has completely change for better and best. Finally, thanx HTC.
