d,v patil, 25 Mar 2014when i download any hd video from tube mate with 1270x720 r... moreFew things to be noted.

Either the issue is with that Tubemate app. Its encoding may be a reason for audio shift with the video.

          Or

Better quality may not support the phone. 1270x720 hd is not supportable to our phone. Somehow it runs with Mxplayer, but there are chances for lagging, ie. phone processor lags to play this HD quality video.

By my experiments, I found that the below settings is Superb for video convertion for Desire XC.

          Resolution - 853x480 (or 800x480)
          Frame rate - 25
          Codec - H.264/mpeg4/avc
          Bitrate - 1.4Mbits/sec
          Audio - 192kbits/44100Hz/AAC Codec

this will give you a very Good/Extreme Quality video, which plays easily, with a low file size.

By using EVDO/Data phone gets heats up quickly. But it may not be on Wifi. Its because of the huge use of network, not only for this phone but also for all cellphones. Especially EVDO, is faster than normal 2G data (ie, EVDO is equivalent to 3G), and battery drains faster. You can check this with your friends.

Not sure about wifi problem that you've faced. Anyway mine is fine, in my office I've several wifi access points all over. While I was moving to various places in office, it automatically connect to best wifi signal point. May be yours is a manufacturing fault. As I mentioned in my previous post, I've a dead pixel on my screen (as its a manufacturing defect). Quality is compromised by these Companies to fit the product in the price tag.

I purchased HTC Desire XC via reliance EMI scheme.

The shipped handset was weak on wifi signals. Got the DOA certificate issued and got the handset replaced.

The new replaced handset is again poor. When EVDO data is on and and after few calls it heats up significantly.

Now frustrated do not know what to do with this trash. The same fate being suffered by my cousin who purchased HTC Desire 700. Low on battery and unbearable heating.

Mohan, 26 Feb 2014How is the Voice Call Quality & Clarity in both SIMs? ... moreYes... Both Voice call quality and clarity are good(for both sims). Its an international brand device, so you don't need worry about those things.

Next About Signal strength: I'm living in the Metro City; Kochi, India, and I've good signal strength all over, but there is low signal inside my office building, but all my colleagues facing the same signal problem (with all service providers).

I've MTS(CDMA) and Airtel(GSM) connections. I didn't found any difference between CDMA or GSM calls. Both are feels same. Previously I've used different cellphones(Huawei and LG) for CDMA and GSM connections, and there was noticeable difference in call quality between them. But there is no such issues with XC. I'm using XC from past 45days.

Surprisingly the Battery life is excellent, More than a Day. But once I've downloaded few junk games and apps from playstore, battery drains easily. I noticed it quickly, and removed all those junk apps, and my battery life becomes normal.

I found a dead pixel on my screen, after few days from purchase. Very tiny, visible only in full black background display, in night. But its not noticeable, so I didn't contacted the service center yet. I think the quality of the products are coming down, to bring it in to the price tag. Not only HTC, but also all the electronic manufacturers. I faced same dead pixel issue for my brand new Dell LED Monitor few months ago(found it in the purchase day itself, and got replacement)

Transzakle 4m india, 12 Feb 2014I wnt d bst combination of cdma+gsm android phone undr 15k ... moreHi,
Most of the feature of VC and XC were same. But VC is an old model. I've searched a lot before my purchase (both XC and VC). VC is currently unavailable in the market, but may be available through online stores. But as per the info from GsmArena, it is very old model, ie, 2012 model and XC is the latest among them, and its 2013.

                          Also note the technical side.
RAM expanded from 512mb to 768mb in XC
No 'Edge' in VC, but available in XC.
Bluetooth version is latest in XC and is version4.0. latest is always good.
XC is dual core, and VC is single core
                          Less weight than VC.

Overall features are same. But I prefer XC, since it is the latest. Also note this is in the price range of 15,000 INR. You can also checkout HTC's another higher model (OneX series) for the price range of 29,000 INR.
its a GSM/CDMA+GSM phone. Search for more about it.

I'm from India. I own this wonderful phone. Basically I've selected this because, the combination is

                              CDMA+GSM, under a good price tag of Rs.15700/- (~252USD).

Features are great, compared to the similar combination phones in Indian brands, but price is too

high (compared to them). But its ok, for HTC brand value.

Build Quality is Good, although its a plastic finsh.

Processor is too old, A7 ARM Processor. I think they used it to fit this in this economy range.

                              Graphics Adreno 305. Just ok.

Display quality is Superb, 480x800 pixels with 233ppi, feels great (Compared with IPS Display of LG

                              L7 II).

Battery; Before purchasing, I doubt the battery life with 1650mAh; But surprisingly, it gave a me

more than one day. Say 2 days with normal calls and sms (calls not more than 1hr (total duration)

+normal busy office life-no time for spending with mobile). By enabling "Mobile Data" battery life

goes down, very fastly. But in wifi, its better (compared to Mobile DATA)

Camera is pathetic. its 3MP, but my previous phone LG GD510 with 2MP gives better quality, even in

indore and outdoor. Desire XC's camera quality is poor. Same thing for Video, we can not say its

great, but ok. Video records 480x800 Resolution only.

No 3G in GSM, but I've a great CDMA Connection (MTS) with High Speed internet. Its superb in this.

HTC Sence 4+ by default. Its great. But still I'm using third party Launcher.

No magnetic sensor on board, but supports Maps and all.

                              Overall
Looks - Superb (I've Black color, White color not looks good for me)
                              Build quality - Good
                              Display - Superb
                              Battery - Good
                              Camera - Bad
                              UI - Good
