They said this is common due to htc sense. I just thought this was fixed by gingerbread but its not

If That Doesn't Work, Try Going To Your Main App Menu, Touch The Menu Hardware Button And Select Remove App!
If It's Still Giving You A Hard Time, Try To Uninstall It Through Marketplace! I Had A Similar Problem With Skype!

This update is still too buggy. I think htc will release another update to address these issues

EriK, 28 Jul 2011Haha after several attempts i was able to download and inst... moreAm able to update to gingerbread. Th improvements are apparently in the sms function and dropdown notification. One bug is it keeps forcing to close picasa.htc its very annoying i want to uninstall that app but cant see it in the list of apps. Whats your observation on this new update mate :)

Haha after several attempts i was able to download and install the gingerbread update. i just disabled my security code and everything went smoothly :)

I need help. I am trying to update to Gingerbread today but it keep on saying the file was corrupted. I already tried several times. I'm in the Philippines and my carrier is Globe..

GREG180, 27 Jul 2011because the price is at half...same here, im currently in malaysia and the OTA update, which i downloaded 3x, keeps on having the file corrupted error during validation.. still looking for a fix, or at least know which is the problem..
anyway, i bought my DZ in megamall....
hope someone can enlighten us, specially we waited for a long time for this update, and now this problem..

I was able to download the 107MB update but during validation the always say "the downloaded file is corrupted do you wish to download the update again". I downloaded the file three times already but that note always apprear. I also tried to insert a different memory card because the first memory card might be corrupted or faulty, yet same corrupted files appreared. Anyone here who encountered the same? And what should i do to fix this..

However, there are much better phones out there, e.g. Samsung Galaxy S II, HTC Sensation, Droid 3 and HTC Evo 3D. Why consider a single core phone when there are dual core phones? Hope this helps

Anyone here from the Philippines who were able to upgrade to gingerbread. Been waiting everyday for the update to appear in my phone since htc announced that update was already available but until now i have not received the notification of the update. My phone always states that "theres no available update for my phone". Come on htc i been waiting long enough

Also, what model is your existing phone? Why are you unsatisfied with your existing phone? What is it about the Desire Z that is making you considering buying it instead of keeping your existing phone?
You haven't given us enough information to give you a good answer. I can say it is worth buying for me, but I was using a Nokia N97 before.
