Is the hardware-qwerty any good or is it as bad as the one on htc touch pro 2 that all reviewers said was so perfect but when I used it it turned out to be impossible to write fast on because I always pressed more than one key because it was to hard to feel the keys and to feel if I had pressed it or not? N97 mini have a good qwerty, but the rest of that phone sucks, and E7 also looks like it have a great qwerty but only 360x640 and 256 mb ram and only Symbian and cost 599 euro.
If you watch movies on Z and accidently only hold in the screen part, not the part with the qwerty, will gravity make the qwerty-part drop down and it's weight make you drop the phone?
I really want an Android 2.2 with hardware qwerty but I have serious doubts about the qwerty on this one because of my bad experience with htc touch pro 2.

This phone is really spectacular, but I have a question for those who have this. Does the battery life really stays 14h on average daily? If not maybe there is a defect with my handset. Thanks in advance for those who can help me about this.

myho, 04 Feb 2011The only thing I want to know, before buying this phone, is... moreThis applies only to the home screens. The home screens are in portrait orientation when the keyboard is retracted. If you open the keyboard, the home screens will switch to landscape. The home screens will not switch to landscape if you turn the phone sideways.
In most other apps like the browser or YouTube, it will switch to landscape orientation if you turn the phone sideways (without needing to open the keyboard). There are some instances where the display is only in portrait or only on in landscape and that is application specific. For instance, if you play Angry Birds, it will always be in landscape.

myho, 04 Feb 2011The only thing I want to know, before buying this phone, is... moreHi myho, I typing this on my own HTC desire Z as we speak, the keyboard does NOT have to be open in order for you to go in landscape mode to watch videos or play games etc. Hope this clear things up.. I've had this phone for a bit over a month now and there isn't any problems at all. Keyboard hinge is not loose or anything. Great phone. Nice quality. HTC rules!

The only thing I want to know, before buying this phone, is this:
In reviews I've read that the screen flips to landscape only if the keyboard is open/out... now, I don't really mind, but it seems kinda stupid to watch videos with keyboard open...so...does the screen flips to landscape, if I want to watch a movie or play some game?

AnonD-707, 03 Feb 2011Are the hinges delicate? ThanksHinges are pretty sturdy. I've had mine for 3 months now and the hinge mechanism showed no signs of weakening. I even dropped mine yesterday on to hardwood floor and the phone and hinge still works fine.
