It doesn't have an aluminum unibody casing. Just bought it yesterday. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, just this statement is not true. The darker parts (most of the body) are "soft touch" plastic and the lighter parts (LCD frame and battery cover) are aluminium. So metal is rather an addition than main construction material of the body exterior.

0v0, 05 Nov 2010So the speaker is much better than HTC Desire HD??I cant say for sure. I havent tried the desire hd. But it is definitely better than the legend. All things aside, the browsing experience is amazing...especially because of flash.

Just for info :
htc desire Z

htc desire HD
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RojeS9f9HfE&feature=related
htc desire original
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtEvZB5gxrw&NR=1
In summary, the Z has better assets, real colors, good sound, zoom and focus that goes up to 5cm. The original desire completely overwhelmed.

Ash, 04 Nov 2010Arzoo - how do you find audio quality when listening to mus... moreJust to be more on the honest side as well, it sounds a little bit more muffled than a regular stereo. that is to be expected, it's a phone.. not a boombox :-) but nonetheless, for a phone its brilliant.

KN, 04 Nov 2010Does HTC Desire Z have a Scratch-resistant surface?I'm not a hundred percent sure, moderate research on the net tentatively leans towards a yes.. with the lcd switch, I am assuming it should be scratch resistant.

Ash, 04 Nov 2010Arzoo - how do you find audio quality when listening to mus... moreIn ear headphone quality is as good as your headphones are, and let me tell you.. the htc ones are great! but better headphones means better quality. As for loudspeaker, I was driving in my car today with the window half-down on a highway and the phone was in my lap...i still had to turn it down a bit because it was loud. It's not the loudest if you're used to a lot of bass.. but it's better than the BB Bold's and the htc legend, and even better than any nokia or Sony Ericsson phone i've had.
