Don’t use new firmware (ROM version 2.18.502.0)u will get too many problems. try to get old version : 1.75.0.0 117245 then it will works very good, good luck

This phone is a piece of crap! AT&T is wrong for selling a phone they know has manufacturer defects at such a high price. Customer service sucks as much as the policies they follow. I'm so mad I wish I could sue. Bottom line is do not buy this phone or go with this company! I will not make this mistake again.

Roger, 26 Dec 2011Amazing phone; best i ever owned. 5 stars by FAR. I got this phone last year in March, I've treated this phone well and i have had minimal problems with it. The only thing that i did not like was that the phone was a little thick, but not by too much. I would recommend this phone to anyone who is looking for a feature phone that has more options than other phones. 5 stars.

I bought the HTC Freestyle in October, about 3 months ago. I was all excited because I couldn't update my plan for an Android, so this was as close as I could get. Within 5 minutes of owning the phone it says "Oops. System error occurred... Restarting." I called AT&T and they said it was most likely because of my older SIM card. They were wrong. The phone freezes at least 4 times a day, and I don't even know how many times it had to restart! You get multiple texts of the same message and can't download pictures half the time. The screen is weak, drop it once and it cracks. When you're on the phone with someone it vibrates and the screen blinks because the sensor sucks. It asks when you want to update you weather, every 3 hours, you have to update it yourself because it doesn't. The volume is confusing. And it fries your MicroSD cards.
But there are a few features I actually liked! The internet was nice. The camera was nice. The HTC Sense was nice. I liked the way the music app was. And the they set up messaging was okay, too! But overall, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. Waste of money! GET SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Freeze, restart, oops...reset, multiple txts, and do it again! wish it would have worked, but it did not. I returned it.

There is basically only one thing to say about this phone DO NOT BUY IT. It freezes it. shuts off it while just sitting. it loses the sims card, you get 5-6 sometimes 7 of the same text if it even downloads it, you get system errors that cause it to restart (which takes forever) the screen wont shut off when up to your ear and it causes it to go into the contact list and dial the camera leaves a lot to be desired. I have 3 of these that have each been replaced 3 times for a total of 9 phones.Calling again today most likely will be up to 12 by the end of the day. I've spent at least 50 hours on the phone with tech support and they cant do anything for me and will not replace the phone. I'm thourghly fed up with AT&T, their customer service is just about non existent. Im most likely going to switch to Sprint I can get twice the minutes and full web and text for about 10 dollars more that what I'm paying for 700 mins and texting now. I ABSOULTLY HATE THIS PHONE its the worst phone I've ever used. I promise you if you buy it YOU WILL REGRET IT.

To fix the AT&T HTTC Freestyle from freezing I found if you disable these features you no longer have that freezing or restarting problem. Disable the auto-sync feature and my location feature under the Data Services and also disable the weather.

This phone was HORRIBLE! I had it for a couple of hours & would say error and turn off ! It always send me multiple message from the same sender, heats up, all my calls drop & deleted all my info on the phone. I had never had problems with any of my phones so NEVER again will I get this phonee !

I hate it it always freezes i dont even remember the last time it didnt freeze on me and i treat i very good the only thing i can do is take the battery out to restart it dont get the phone!!!

i think that there are many issue with htc freestyle especially power issues... and sometimes error msg...
try checking your firmware version on the phone (ROM version)its should be 2.18.502.0..
if not, try downloading it thru:

I got the HTC freestyle, and I had MANY problems with it!!!!! i got my first one last friday it malfunctioned (turned off on its own, wouldnt turn on, even when i took the battery out and put it back in) then i reordered it from At&T, and the other one that came DID THE SAME THING!!!! with BOTH phones within 2 hours they had the same problem!!! I don't understand why HTC made this phone with this reoccurring problem or why they didnt fix it. and WHY is AT&T is purposely and knowingly selling these crappy phones?!?! Shame on them! AT&T is so terrible for giving their customers products like this! they are BIG companies who have been around for many many years, they shouldn't be manufacturing and selling phones with such problems!!!!DONT GET THIS PHONE!! STAY AWAY FROM IT! maybe like 1 out of 10 doesn't have problems! return it if you have had any problems with it! they will only continue!!!

Mine worked fine for about 3 days then all of the sudden it turned off. I tried to turn it back on but when the screen was turning on and said HTC it just froze. I tried to take out the battery then put it back in but when i turned it back on it did the same thing!!!!!

Honestly,At First, I Was Afraid To Get This Phone Because Of All Of The Negative Reviews On It. But By Now, They Could've Fixed The Glitches In It. I Don't Know, The Phone Seems Nice And Usable, And I Oredered It, Because It Seems Like A Good Phone. It May Be The Way People Use That Phone That Causes It That Way, Or Just Glitches. But, My Advice Is, Treat The Phone Like A Smartphone, And It Might Not Mess Up. Now, We'll See If It's A Good Phone(:
