personally I would go for Android os at the moment, but all things change very quickly. Over the past 18 months have used touch diamond, xperia, touch pro and have recently started using a hero, and I have to say that it feels and looks much better than any of the WinMo phones. But having said that I had a G1 on Android when they first came out and preferred the WinMo devices when I started using them.
iPhone - average device now, but still a phenomenal app store and can see an announcement in the new year. iPhone will always be more of a niche market in the same way as the Mac.
I'm looking forward to this coming out and will be buying one.
If you are wanting all of the .xls .doc etc, then like others have commented, get a netbook/laptop or even a tablet pc, there's going to be plenty of those to choose from in 2010. Going to be a great year for the gadget freaks amongst us!

Guys stop comparing this phone with the iphone....
This phone is gonna be announced on Jan 2010 and iphone 3gs was released during july 2009... Didnt u notice the gap....And 3gs was not even a totally new thing,It was just a revamp of the previous model...
Every month or every 15 days atleast 1 new moblile is announced with added capabilities...
Well iphone has a group of followers and so does most of the brand...
When a new iphone is announced this jan then would be the right time to compare...

Apple Iphone days are over, because this phone has better specs, better OS and the finally the cost of it is very cheaper and yet still unlocked. Gosh it gets released in India too, it will sell like hotcakes or candy.

About the OS depending on what u need to do, different OS's r better

Anonymous, 30 Dec 2009This is what all the excitement is about?? There is nothing... moreWhat???
Comparing it with iPhone are you?
How about multitasking out of the box to start with.
And the very widely used bluetooth file transfer.
1 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM.
And yes internal memory, how about almost unlimited external memory by virtue of External MicroSD card slot so use can use multiple cards.
iPhone, well don't take Nexus One so low, it should be compared with HD2 atleast.

Anonymous, 30 Dec 2009This is what all the excitement is about?? There is nothing... moreSounds to me that you are in the market for a HD camera, not a smart phone. This isn't a website for you! From the info we have seen, this looks great. I guess we will see what thing is like after jan.05 when the reviews start popping out. Personally, i can't wait!

This is what all the excitement is about?? There is nothing here that's spectacular. If this had a 12MP camera on it that recorded 1280x720 HD video at 30FPS, with a great lens, both Xenon and LED flashes, plus the things missing from Android, then I could see some excitement. But this?? It's nothing more than an iPhone 3GS without all the built in memory, which is inexcusable.

When is Android going to get equalizer settings and the ability to create your own custom equalizers like Symbian? And how about some customizable profiles like Symbian has? Hey, maybe this one will actually be able to run more than 6 applications at once too.

STrange all this debate about os supremacy, well its personal preference.I personally believe that wm offers more customisation freedom, like working eclairs and dounut os in wm phones, iphone winterboard already there. Haven't seen a plain program that runs divx/xvid in android yet. ms Office is than a dream for Dream owners!!
