Yes, you have good reasons not to expect it now ... am not blaming you as a frog in a well.
But lets think a little outside our individual realms.

                      References apart:

2G coverage in US (land) from any single operator is less than 80%
3G coverage in US (land) from any single operator is less than 50%

world wide (land) 2G coverage from all operators put together is less than 30%
world wide (land) 3G coverage from all operators put together is less than 20%

GSM (voice only) is more ubiquitous though all equipment on towers capable of voice are supposed to be capable of GPRS at least.

Radio relayed over IP network is terrible on 2G. Latest info can't be stored on SDCard. Even 3G is not always at full bandwidth.
FM is much more ubiquitous even in under-developed nations.
On FM many find Music/songs/weather-info/news/traffic-info etc very useful.

unlocked it pleaseeeeeee Google or HTC make the nexus one the best phone out there

And the trackball is better, then optical trackpad, because is more precise. I had htc phones with trackball and never had problems with it.
blackberry has problems with the trackball

I still prefer the nexus one, over all new 3 htc phones, and I think is going to be on top for a long time. the nexus one has the specifications that I'm looking for. And don't be sorprise when you see update with Fm transmitter, and then, this phone really going to be on top for a long time lol Adios Iphone

Sorry about that, I meant that to read MS Office documents, you can do it for free with the free version of Documents to Go, you have to buy the app if you want to be able to edit MS Office.

A lot of the questions here are about the software (Android OS), you can find lots of forums that talk only about the Android OS, it will answer a lot of your questions.

Android OS phones can read MS Office documents. To edit MS Office documents (word, excel, etc...) you have to buy an application like Documents to Go.

Google is answering the call from Nexus One phone owners.

More than a month after officially unveiling the new Android-based phone, the search giant on Monday launched a phone support line specifically to answer the questions of Nexus One owners. Phone owners can call (888) 48NEXUS (63987) between 4 a.m. and 7 p.m. PST and reach a live tech, Google advises.

The 190 Mb limit on App storage space for the Nexus One is a killer.... I already have over 800 Mb of Apps on my iPhone and I honestly don't have that many (4 Pages of Apps).
