shaherzade, 31 Oct 2012Heading straight to xda forum. Ooops what did u just sai... moreIt not just a forum
It is also the please where you will get newer Android ROMs for your HD2 and the tutorials on how to install it.
There are also goodies you can get there that you will not get in the play store
e.g. the flash player link I gave is from there. Flash is no longer officially supported by Android so it has been removed from the play store.

The play store is for google approved Android apps (Android is there OS and the play store belongs to them) but that is not the only source of software for Android.

If you ever decided to put WM6.5 back on your phone XDA is the place you would have to go for the ROM.
It’s one of the main places that are still supporting the HTC HD2. even the HTC web site is not giving support for this phone any more.

shaherzade, 31 Oct 2012Ok i am here Anthony and google play store is working too i... moreHere is not the place to learn about downloading torrents. Sorry
For music you can use a program called (simple mp3 downloader) it is free in the play store.

I keep forgetting you know nothing about Android.
The flash file you downloaded should have a (.apk) file ending. If it is a (.zip) ending, you have to un-zip it to get the .apk file to install.

You can get AndroZip in the playstore.

That is how serious they are about killing that old unstable technology.
Flash is going to die like the diskette drive sooner or later so don’t cling on to it so much.

shaherzade, 30 Oct 2012Ok i have created a google mail account. So what u mean ... moreIn your case I would have to say yes. A laptop maybe a better buy as flash is so important to you and they have a longer life cycle before they become obsolete.

Phone prices go up because of there hardware. People say SIII is the best but the question you need to ask is. how much of what you paying for can you use where you are?
Is it the best for you?
is what that makes it grate usable in my location?

                        e.g.
                        SIII has
                        1. Quad band 3G service. But if you have no 3G then paying for a phone with quad band 3G will work now better than a phone with dual band or no 3G.

                        2. it has 4G service but if your area had no 4G then what is the point of having it.

                        3. it has a big screen. That is grate for watching movies and playing games but a smaller screen phone could do that as well so you could save money there.

                        4. it has Wi-Fi hotspot feature. But if this is the only device you go on the internet with you do need that.

                        5. DLNA is pointless unless you have a TV that supports it.

                        6. Wi-Fi direct is pointless unless your friends have a phone that has it to.

                        7. NFC is of no use if you live in a remote area of an undeveloped country.

                        8. Svoice need a high speed internet connection. So that is of now use to you.

These are some of the things you are playing for when you buy a SIII that you will never use so that is why I say you don’t need a S3

Once the phone is factory built with Android and update able to a current version, has a Quad-core CPU, 1 GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage. The rest of the specs should meet your needs as far as a phone goes.

It is you that is behind the times.
HTML5 and silver light is the new slandered.
Flash is dieing old school tec. And mobile makers are not supporting it to force web page makers that are stuck in the past to move on to HTML5 or die with flash.

Mobile phone companies are not thinking about this aspect? They should have sorted out these problems like years ago..this is new millenium and that much expensive phones and they cant settle flash and other small issues lol

Internet only is not enough ...these small issues be addressed... its now mobile/ smart phone era and still they are way much behind.

Anthony, 30 Oct 2012Flash is no longer supported by any OS made for mobile phon... moreOk i have created a google mail account.

So what u mean is that mobile/ smart phone is nothing so special..no matter how expensive it is?

                              In my area
Computer costs around 200$ - 300$... the best one... p4.
Laptop costs around 300$ - 450$....the best ones..p4 whatever it is
Smart phones costs around 150$ - 600$... from cheaper to best ones.

So if these phones cant produce good results for me then i think Laptop is best choice? Right? Cz i think Laptop and computers works same?right?
Laptop is good for me bcz its batteries charges easily and consume less electricity/power...then i think i should go for Laptop...what do u think?

shaherzade, 30 Oct 2012What do u think is better set Android or non Android? Wh... moreYour bro is both correct and wrong at the same time.
This phone is grate because it is 3 years old and by phone standards it should be in a grave. But instead it can be hacked to change the OS to Windows Phone 7.5 or even Android. no other phone can dream of doing that.

But at the end of the day its still outdated hardware (CPU & memory) so I just can’t match new devises for speed and capability.
And as you the anything part….. anything made for Android (not your PC) that your phone has the hardware to run.(OLD phone not the best hardware spec anymore.)

iOS, WP & Android all have youtube players and there own game for download so you have to pick the one that has the games you want. I can’t pick for you.

And yes the S3 is grate. That is what I am using now. I just have my HD2 as a Garmin Nav unit now. (nothing more.)

But you don’t have to get a S3 to play if the price is too much other phone can do it as will. S3 is not just about games & youtube that is why it cost so much.

shaherzade, 30 Oct 2012Ok i will take my battery out and try again installing it. ... moreFlash is no longer supported by any OS made for mobile phones any more.
They are all moving on to HTML5. That is why adobe is no longer making a mobile version of flash. Version 11 is the last one.
Only desktop version of flash will be developed from now on.
So any web site that does not switch to HTML5 just will not work on your phone when the desktop version of flash upgrades again.
That’s just how it is. No matter what phone you buy now. Mobile flash has reached the end of its days. So if you get version 11 working enjoy it while you have it.

If your into games this was not the phone to buy. Its over 3 years old and the OS it was made for which is Windows Mobile has been discontinued more than a year now. So find new apps for that OS is out of the question. Microsoft has moved on to there new OS called Windows Phone. Which is not a upgrade of Windows Mobile.

As you don’t buy phones often and games are important to you. Your bro did the right thing by switching the OS to Android. But now it is up to you to keep updating it (manually as this phone has no auto update for android, seeing that putting Android on it was a unofficial modification). Android has reached version 4.2 so you are way behind.

As for what to buy the next time.
                                  Look at ….
                                  1. Official Android devices with a quad core CPU and losts of internal storage.
Games need that to run smooth.
                                  2. iPhone also good for gamers (don’t buy an outdated model or the new grate apps will not work)
3 a Windows Phone 8 or newer device. With dual core CPU

And don’t buy a device that is more than 18 months old

Smart phones are considered obsolete after 2 years of its announced date.
