Tharindu, 31 Aug 2012can i update HD2 OS to Anroid version ??????
If so please ... moreYes you can install android on your hd2.
The different versions have names that are alphabetical orderd Jelly bean is the newest version Icecream the second newest.
On hd2 you can run everything, even win xp . So android is no problem, but i recomend you to have a sd card that you use as a internal memory becaise the internal memory of the phone is low. thelephone numbers photos ar no problem but if you wish to donload more than 3-4 apps you have to use parts of your sd card as a internal memory,

This is good bye. Friend just got me a Samsung GSIII so I could play with it and teach her everything. Told me to pay her for the phone whenever I like.
Will not be on the HD2 page much now and my HD2 will be used as a NAV system in the car.
Will still get a WP8 phone and give my phone GSIII if it turns out it doesn’t have everything I want.
Its bean fun guys… bye.

YK, 22 Aug 2012Hi, as I mentioned below price is in US dollars. You are lu... moreI find Android without HTC sense is a bit ugly. So ill agree with you and go with the one that has the sense UI
I imported my phone from the UK
HTC is not a brand readily available in TT.
3 years ago every one were into BB or wanted an iPhone. A handful of people was all that ever heard of HTC. It would piss me off when people would watch my phone and say “cool which iPhone is that?”
Now every one is into Android and lot more know about HTC but only for there Android phones not WP.
But the service providers are pushing Samsung android phones so that is what most people buy. When I’m ready to move on to WP8 ill have to import it again.

Anthony, 20 Aug 2012So the price you are quoting are in RUB or USD?
Got mine o... moreHi, as I mentioned below price is in US dollars. You are lucky to get it much cheaper than it was in Russia. I don't know why, but HTC products are much expencive in Russia than around the world, so in this case there are alot unofficial shipment to Russia w/o manufacture warranty.
"But if price of unit (with good build quality) now running cooked Android is more important than, high spec running Android." - you are absolutely right, that's what I mean exactly :)
"Hi! Who is better gigerbread, froyo, bada, icecream sandwich?" - I prefer gingerbread for my HD2, because I like HTC sense, unfortunately it's not yet ported to HD2 on ICS.

Got mine online from www.clove.co.uk second shipment batch 2009 (autorised HTC dealer) for apox.
£400 thats 627USD or 20140RUB
But if price of unit (with good build quality) now running cooked Android is more important than, high spec running Android. I understand your reason for still wanting a HD2

I have been using xda way bac... moreit's me again, sorry that I'm not registered, but I found here an interesting topic and stay a little bit :) You are absolutely right and I agree with you, but we need to take in count, that a new realised mobile phones are not so cheap after their announcing. For example, I bought absolutely new HD2 (not used) for less than $200 and I'm happy with that. It's fast and flexible, made in high quality materials. It's for sure, I mentioned only about Android version of HD2 (ICS included, MIUI also), so I can get all needed SW from Google and from other sites. For me it's very important to have hardware buttons on phone, unfortunatelly latest models not have it at all. What's else, HD2 looking great till for now, don't forget it was a flagman of HTC in 2009. Of course, I wanted to get HD2 in 2009, but I refused to spend for it about $1000, thanks.

Anonymous, 16 Aug 2012Because this is the best mobile for tweaks, look at xda-dev... moreI know all to well about xda. I have been using xda way back when I had a windows mobile Qtek S200 then the HTC Touch HD and now the HTC HD2.
The thing is twinking a dead OS is pointless if you can’t get the new apps that are on the other OS. Right not I’m pisst I can’t have whatsapp which is like the new BBM across platforms. There in no longer a good FB chat app for the WM OS. Put it simple nothing new is being made for WM and some of the old stuff stop supporting the WM OS.
That there is the argument that you can install Android on it.
But if you are in the market to buy a new phone you can early buy a phone that comes with android and has much better hard wear spec and still modify it on XDA. You will not be able to put the WM OS on it, but most likely you will not want to do that because as I said before that OS is dead.
Then there is the argument that it can install WP7.
Well by the end of the year WP7 will also be a dead OS in favour of WP8 which is a window NT based OS. And from a hardware point of view it is pointless to try and put WP8 on the HD2.
So know all this, I find it hard to understand why someone would still want to buy a HD2 today when there is better out there? What am I missing?
