there is company GEN TEL who posted an add that they are selling htc hd2 on $240, i have mailed them and they are saying that they can give me this phone on $240, is it actually possible, are they actually can sell this phone in that price or they are just putting fake price tags? can someone conform me that should i accept this or avoid the offer?

      I know you recommended Laridian, which I tried but I think Esword is the best.

        As for the program you called…. Is that an e-book reader? Can’t you use a next brand? Some cooked ROM’s come with e-book readers built in. (ask High Tech which one he recommends. I don’t use e-books”)
        I don’t know how that program is made up but I have found for old programs that have dropdown menus made to use with a stylus, instead of taping the menu button it is easier to tap the default word in the menu and the drop down will open. Then pick on the word in the line I want and not the line it self.

          Hi,Anthony I can't thank you enough for all your help in making this phone a great user experience thru this user forum. I am having a nice time with my new 1.66 rom and yes it is far better than the 1.43 one I had initially from TMobile.
          I however have some other related questions
          1. I am a very heavy user of Esword app on my mobile device. I presently use an ipaq 214 which has a resistive screen and the Esword app words fine on it. I was excited about the HD2 becos of the 4.3 inches screen , fast processor and WinMo OS since Esword only works on WinMo. But after getting my HD2 i discovered that the app has not been modified for WVGA. Though you can instal it, is very difficult to use as the panels for selecting books and verses are too small to select and select ok is very dificult. The guy who used to support the app has stopped doing that. My question is - is there a way to have this sorted ??? Pls this is really impt to me.
          2. Like i mentioned above, i have an ipaq 214 with a 620Mhz processor, is there a way i can tweak my ipaq by getting a snapdragon 1ghz processor to work on it and make it faster. ??????

              I can tell you this without thinking twice about it.
              hack your phone's SPL with HSPL and install the HTC 1.66 ROM, your phone will thank you.

                  Lo, 04 Mar 2010Thanks anthony for the answer,yes u r rite,im currently run... moreif your ROM is 1.43, who ever tell you they do a update is a "**$%&@*" 1.43 is the first ROM ever made for this model phone to hit the shelf in November 2009.
                  If you have a provider branded phone you will have to hack it to get the ROM update. neither your provider Nor HTC are updating Branded ROMs.
                  if you have a Gerneric/not branded HD2, you will get the ROM and instuctions on the HTC web site.

Im using the conversation mode and the msg is appeared in the threaded but when i check the msg still stuck in the outbox folder. Sometime i have to off and on my phone again only the msg will be sent. Anthony have advice me to update to ROM 1.66 but i just wondering after i update to ROM 1.66 is there any other way to know the msg have been sent. Hope u understand my explanation. Thanks again.

                          Hi Anthony, I know you'r busy with so many questions, but if you could spare me a little time, could you help me with this?

                          How do you play RMVB media files on your HD2? I've got a couple of rmvb videos but they cant be played on the winmo media player or Coreplayer. Tried downloading and installed the mobile real player but it can't play those files either.

                            Hi anthony,another thing that i forgot to ask u is did there is any shortcut for me to check that the sms is been sent whitout changing to traditional mode and check it in the sent item/outbox folder and other then activate the delivery report. Thanks.

How do i download the ROM 1.66. Did i have to connect my phone to PC and downloaded from there or i can just send my phone to HTC service centre and ask them to do it for me.                                 I got my hd2 yesterday, and it is T-mobile branded (unfortunatelly). I found that my data connections are limited and possibly locked to T-Mobile GPRS network (besides wifi of course). Does any one with such ROM confirm that?

                                note: i am not T-mobile subscriber.

                                  I have noticed that most of the post here on HTC HD2 is 90% having so many problems with the unit and a lot of users are terribly frustrated. Even simple sending and receiving of SMS is a problem with HD2. Not really worth at all the invest a huge amount of money with HD2 and I'm glad I postponed to buy it. I have the reason to wait for XPERIA X10 which is I think far, far better, plus the fact that for me 4.3" is too big already unlike XPERIA X10 with 4" which is slightly bigger than iPhone.

                                    After you understand what you watched, the Supported codec in the picture tab on the HD2 are H.263, 3GPP2, MPEG4, MOTION JPGE, and H.264
                                    And to get more codec’s install CorePlayer for a WVGA screen.
                                    If you are ripping a DVD to put on your phone use DVD Catalyst 3
                                    Or any program that can Rip at
                                    800x480
                                    Video quality not more than 700kbps
                                    Audio not more than 128 kbps
                                    And codec... any one from the lest above (H.264 is the best)
                                    And remember from the video i asked you to watched... that H.264 is the codec not the file ending.
                                    once a video has the right codec, you just have to copy and past it to the memory card.

                                        just 1 simple question please because i am not a phone tech head can you download movies on the htc hd2 because there is no divx,and what type of program do i need to download on the htc hd2 to down load dvd,or movies thankyou.
