Anonymous, 15 Feb 2010Why do most HTC phones have 65k colors? Why can't HTC ha... moreMost of HTC phone only show 65k colors because most of them are running the windows mobile OS which can only display/generate 65k colors.
But if you were to kick down “Bill Gates” door and demand that he make windows mobile to support 16m colors. Then the very next day you would get a ROM update for your HTC windows mobile phone. And it will display 16m colors.
It has nothing to do with the hardware or the HTC UI. It’s the OS that has a color limitation.

    I have been using it for so many years that on till i went to look for the link for you i didn’t even know it had a new version :-)

      well, let's say I'm "hard user" of windows mobile (PPC), before HTC HD2 I had SE X1; Acer; Moto and many other devices without modem (HP Jornada; Compaq Ipaq; Philips Nino). HTC HD2 is monster. This device realy No1 windows mobile phone. Ofcourse you can find some minuses (no dedicated camera key and etc,) but overal- phone just great. By the way, I dont use HTC sence , I prefere SPB mobile shell v3.5 - this is very good program.

I just read your response regarding the rom. I got my phone form UK T Mobile and the rom version is 1.43.110.2(70315)WWE & DATE 10.28.09. Are you saying because my phone is tmobile branded i wouldn't be able to download the rom upgrades and fixes on the htc websites ???????
        Also i downloaded an app FtouchSL so i can scroll when using Pocket Esword but after installing the app it affects the scrolling on the phone. Can u help ?????
        I have also installed touch x task manager but i still can't move between opened apps. I can close app but can't move between them. Ple help. Thanks

                  As you said your English is poor and a bit hard to decipher but are you asking....... if a better rom comes out for the HD2, will you have to buy a new HD2 to get the new rom or will the rom be available for download? If that is the question then.....
                  if a new rom comes out for the HD2,
                  HD2’s made after that date will come with it
                  and people with HD2’s that came with the factory ROM will get it for download
                  but HD2’s with the Cell Provider ROM will have to hack there phone to get it.

                    1. Reports go together with the person it is for so at a glance you know what sms the report is for (if you send a batch message to 50 people and you get back 45 reports, you want to check the info of all the reports to see which 5 people did not get it? Or if you get back all 50 but one week later 1 person is lying and says they never got it. You want to sift though all reports when you could have just gone to their name?)

                    2. The phone comes with the default windows mobile task manager.

                    5. You define the setting where each program saves things (internal/card) from each program’s options.

                    If you want everything to be just like a symbian phone, why didn’t you just buy a symbian phone?
                    This phone is for people that want the “windows mobile” freedom to tweak; The none intrusive style of syncing and the file compatibility whit its windows desktop counterpart.

                          Hey Man,

                          Got HD2, very fast phone.. But in comparison to symbian/Nokia, there are basic flaws:
                          1. SMS system is not very good, like delivery reports etc. You need to keep on removing del reports once u enable. no separate folder for reports.
                          2. No task management system like u press menu key long and switch between applications in Symbian.
                          3. No profiles.
                          4. Radio reception is pathetic in same environment as compared to Nokia N series.
                          5. You can not define default setting for memory management.

                          Lets see if they will improve them.

                                    Hi all experienced HTC user.i jus a fan of HTC so i no little about it so thank 4 explaination.if in the future, HTC releas new OS or new ROM of HD2,it is mean the HTC produce HD2 put that new OS or new ROM in the new original product??Or HTC jus produce HD2 have same OS or ROM like now and let the costomer update by themseft via HTC site??sorry my engish is poor,thank 4 ur help
