Well done Microsoft for stealing the dumbest idea from the iphone (and the reason why I won't buy either of them).

:((-_-)):, 12 Nov 2010i'd appreciate it if someone could answer a couple of quest... moreThat's correct... You will need to install a 3rd party app to view those type files (like coreplayer),,, Don't know if coreplayer is made for WP7 yet....

i'd appreciate it if someone could answer a couple of questions i have. i am interested in purchasing the hd7 but i noticed it doesn't support divx/xvid. what is divx/xvid? does this mean i won't be able to view avi and mkv movie files on this handset? i've downloaded and installed it on my computer many times in the past but never new exactly what it is/does, only that it's a "codec" and that i need it to watch movies on my media player.

            thanks in advance!

Dan, 11 Nov 2010Hey, Guys i am planning to get the HTC HD7 please Can anybo... moreIf you want WP7 then buy the HD7... I have the HD2 and doesn't see much difference in the two?? I'm planning on waiting at least a year or two to see what WP7 will look like then?? It's just not enough to make me buy... Also I don't like the box look of the UI either.... WP7 also has alot of limitations than my HD2... Too me the HD2 is still better... Right now I have HTC Android Sense HD on my HD2... I can run both WM and Android on the HD2... Also I saw a video of WP7 runnung on the HD2 from China Xda... So it's just a matter of time before WP7 ROM makes it to the HD2.......

I'm looking at what android is going to bring to the table in 2011... Also looking at the Sony PS3 phone as well... That's another reason why I'm not jumping to WP7, I don't have an Xbox so Xbox like on WP7 does me no good.... Also I think you have to have a Zune pass to get music on your phone???? If so I don't want to sign up for that.....

I plan on going into ATT and TMO to play with WP7... Just to see it up close.....

I expected it to have the 1,5 GHz processor.
The only limiting factor is windows mobile 7.
I think I will go for dell's streak instead.

Dan, 11 Nov 2010Hey, Guys i am planning to get the HTC HD7 please Can anybo... morei have looked at this phone and i really cant see the difference between it and my hd2. i even think my hd2 is better. so many options missing. my friend got it recently and he is regretting this. the phone is very responsive, new os. that is pretty much it. camera, internet and the rest is the same as hd2. buying this fone would be a waste of money. i think u should wait a a bit or if u cant, then for htc desire hd or samsung galaxy s.

this or samsung focus? pro: better display, con: typical samsung plasticky crap finish (although it looks a lot better than the galaxy s's).

brynn, 09 Nov 2010Come on i need your help here if you are the expert. I h... more"A smartphone is a mobile phone that offers more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a contemporary basic feature phone"
i believe the HTC HD7 more then falls under this bracket.
                                        http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-gb/features/default.aspx
all the info on windows phone 7 and a dedicated section on HTC HD7.

As a developer i can tell you that developing apps for this OS is easier by far then the annoying android and the restricted iOS, so given a few months this fone will be supported more then any.

Zune is massive in the States hence the Zune players being in its 4th generation prior to the WP7. Its music, video and radio capability is as good as any people will find it unusual after an ipod experience but i wud say easier to navigate. The formats Zune(software) recognises goes along way past iTunes.

It has a store for media music videos and obvs apps so again competes with iphone excels against android.

It may not have drag/n/drop like android but zune does its purpose! symbian is dying as i wudnt say it sits in the market anymore next to android/wp7/iOS it is more a busy phone not SMART. sorry guys SYMBIAN just aint what it was proir to iphone making the market think.

Its sound is ok its Dolby sound does give it a better then expected quality and outload i havent noticed any problems compared to the iPhone 4 and Blackberry Storm i have here now.

Give it a chance! it is awesome and will be supported as much as anyother OS as Microsoft will not leave this marketplace.

RAM monitors/clocks/stopwatches these are apps whihc are or will be available sooner rather then later!

Brynn do yourself a favour buy one! theres your help!!!
