3Gs I had to charge 4times a day and car charge too and the hero lasts me 2days on 1 charge!

I bought 2 phones few days ago: HTC Hero and iPhone 3G (not 3GS). Both phones are great, but Hero looks, feels and works so much better! 3GS is better than 3G cause it has better processor and better ram, but everything else is pretty much the same. I already have ~100 programs and applications on my Hero, but not too many games (has th new Android OS, so it is too early). Another problem I ran into is the incompatibility with Windows 7. But HTC works hard and soon everything will be fine. Finally the battery life isn't too great, but iPhone has the same problem so I am happy to recommend you all the Hero, as the best Smartphone yet! 3GS has better processor (+72mhz) but less ram (-32mb) but Hero still looks, works and feels better!

its an amazing handset ,i have used the i-fone 3gs,,,and the hero is much better and smoother than any other apper touch devices...apple better buckle up or htc will kill u guys with the new htc hero...all n all an awesome device to go with...ull love it....

Robert, 17 Dec 2009One of disapointment - Android does not support AVI/DivX/XviDI'm no codec expert, but I can assure you that it can play MP4 files coded with H.263 and H.264 videos.
So... it's not a problem at all.
The only real downside IMO is the lack of FM radio transmitter.

Bought the phone a couple of weeks back
- Sense UI - Great
- Scenes for customization - Great
- Apps from the android market - Decent
- Touchscreen response - Nice
- Wifi - Complete let down. Disconnects every 30 seconds
- Trackball - Became less intuitive over time
- Lack of camera flash is a let down at this price
Overall not a bad buy. But god o god..If only they gave android on HD2....

I have the Hero, I have had the I-Phone too!
In my view, the hero is a better built handset and the battery life is GREAT!
Only problem is that there is nowhere in the UK that sells cases for the phone!!
I also own a 6700, g600, skype s2, e1100, 1100,1661
