HTC New One gets DLNA certification, UI demo on video

17 March, 2014

Congratulations to HTC One’s successor on receiving its DLNA certification - labeled as HTC New One rather than the All New One, the device was certified by the DLNA organization on February 20.

The specifications of the One successor are pretty clear at this point - 5” 1080p screen, Snapdragon 801 chipset and a Duo of 4MP cameras with advanced depth of field effects.

It will be running Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense 6.0 - we wrote about a Sense 6.0 demo earlier today, but that one was on the current HTC One. Here’s a longer screen recording video shot on the New One.

It shows the motion gestures (including tap to wake), BoomSound and BeatsAudio settings in the menu and a few other nooks and crannies. One thing the first video showed but this doesn’t is Zoe.

Speaking of which, HTC released a new teaser video covering just that - it’s as cringe-inducing as the previous video, but it does hint that Zoe’s automatic features will be improved for the new phone.

Thanks to Josh for sending this in!

I agree! Buttons on the screen when there is plenty of space just beneath screen... ...strange decision

Not bad, not bad at all! But considering all the leaks so far I guess it's HTC M9 or Sony Z3 for me this fall. Oh well, lets be patient for another week!
