HTC Nexus 9 has its name confirmed by Taiwan's FCC

06 October, 2014

The next Nexus tablet will be made by HTC and will be called Nexus 9. This might not be new to you, but it's now been confirmed as fact by the NCC, Taiwan's equivalent of the FCC.

Earlier today we told you that an HTC tablet with the model number 0P82100 got certified in the US by the FCC. And now Taiwan's equivalent of that agency has done the same. Only in doing so, the NCC managed to confirm that this is the Nexus 9. Have a look below, at a screenshot of the certification document.

The Nexus 9 name can clearly be seen here, along with the same 0P82100 model number that everyone expected to be representative of this tablet. And now it's pretty much official - as official as it can be without a press release from Google and HTC, of course.

Over the past few days the leaks about the Nexus 9 have intensified, so we're probably going to see it getting unveiled pretty soon. Past rumors had that happening around mid-October, and we're almost there.

The Nexus 9, which allegedly got photographed recently, should sport a 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset, an 8.9-inch touchscreen with 2,048x1,440 resolution, an 8 MP rear camera, and stereo speakers - if previous leaks are to be believed.
