For years, a misconception among most consumers is that the higher the megapixel count, the better quality of images. Actually, the number of megapixels is only one of many factors that determine picture quality, with sensors and image processors each playing a critical role.

However, year after year manufacturers try to outdo each other with higher megapixels. How? By reducing the size of the pixels to cram more in, which often decreases image quality. That's because the smaller the pixel, the less light each one collects. This results in more visible noise and other defects in both still images and video.

The more light a digital camera can capture, the more information it can record, resulting in better pictures in more varied conditions and lighting environments.

HTC's approach is to offer larger pixels in the new sensor that can capture 300% more light than many of the 13 megapixel cameras on the market. Because larger pixels record more light and data, our photos display more shades and greater color accuracy.

I purchased this beast phone HTC one Black LTe and its very2x nice. In terms of usage it can last for a day mod-heavy. Camera, WTF, its awesome. I didn't experienced any lags and hangs on this phone. Most of all the cispness and clear boomsound of both speakers so fantastic. Try to turn off the beats audio while your on loudspeaker, you will realize its much loud. For me when im using headset I turn on the beats.. Overall I love this smartphone, if you will buy it, you will never regret it..

Medium to heavy usage, my htc one lasts for 20-24hours.. had it four days ago, so far so good! Camera is ok, not good for pixel peeping (w/c I dont bother to do), but focusing is fast,and exposes well (my wife's sammyGN2 cant focus and expose in low light tricky situations).. i easily adopted to sense5, blinkfeed annoyed at first but its usefull after a few tweaks.. havent played with zoe yet:) am I happy? Oh yes!!!! And my message for htc one bashers? Buy the phone and try it first:)

bought my htc one last wednsday.. battery life– not so good, but will always last for an entire working day 8-10 hrs.. moderate/heavy to heavy usage.
camera- very good, DON'T be discouraged by the 4 ump. Unless you are a detective and u have to investigate something on the picture, 4 mp is enough. Best low light camera even in normal mode.
feel- the best/ minus the heating metal, but when u put it down for 3 mins, heat is gone. very sleek phone.
UI- i'm an iphone user, and htc is the best android UI for me.. low learning curve. Never lags! i tested s4, xp Z, optimus g. Optimus G and Htc one ties for the lag-free phones. s4 freezes and lags from time to time.
sound- music is unbelievable. the dual speakers in front is/are great leap forward.
display- the best display, next to none.
conclusion- battery life is the only downfall. I hope htc improves battery life in their updates.

Hi, I just purchased the HTC one today. I found out the the back night on the two capacitive buttons do not light up when tab. Can anyone advise how to set the two capacitive buttons to light up when pressed. Thank you.

I have been using my HTC One for couple of weeks now and I tell you that the build quality is great.It beats any other smartphone in the market today. One of my favorite feature is the built in front speakers.Not only the sound is incredible, it is also very clear at an volume range. I always had problems with other phones when viewing it in sunlight. But HTC One solved it for me. The Brightness on it makes sunlight viewing very easy. The low light performance, HTC Zoe and macro shots are a blessing. The photos look amazing and the photo editing software within app makes it even better. I do not have any problem with it having a non-removable battery. My HTC One has an awesome battery life, it can stay all day through heavy usage. When you turn on your phone the first thing you will notice is the Blinkfeed. It shows you all the news, social media, calendar, photos..etc all in one. One of the best features. I personally think, HTC One is the smartphone you should own this year. From its build quality to its softwares everything is unique. Just the Right One.

Zoe easy to use, Boomsound is better than a few hundred dollars for small external speakers better, Blinkfeed is convenient.

Using Zoe, a few simple actions can make a movie. Ultrapixel works amazing and I can shot clear picture in the midnight!

Boomsound really loud enough, I can now cook in the kitchen and watch movies. Blinkfeed are a few handy, I hope HTC will have more partners later.

Except the above three best selling point of the new HTC one, I must promote both recording function! When I first tried zoe in a park, I meant to test the photo quality, but when I play back, I can hear the birds singing clearly!

The audio quality is really good because my friends said now I sound much louder on the phone (actually too loud :P)...

Had the HTC one for 1 month amazing speaker quality didn't bother with music or YouTube videos before but this thing is way better than my tv anyone who says speakers are unimportant havnt owned a really smart ph with incredable sound quality. Camera video recording is smooth like a camrecorder photos well how many are taken in poor lighting conditions this ultra pixal camera is amazing way better than our Panasonic 12 meg Lumix in low light. I do feel a bit sorry for HTC this is clearly the best buy for your money clearly a higher quality build innovative ideas and Samsung will sell more of there over hyped plastic phones but as people slowly learn about this amazing new ph watch out Sasumsung for HTC one 2 I predict you will lose so many sales this ph now has a great fomular imagine 8 meg ultra pixal. Will have to up the plastic and brainwash people with more catchy advertisements Samsung.
