The page for this phone states it has a 4MP camera with 2 micrometer pixels. The "ultra" part refers to the individual pixel.
Not that the camera is any good. In daylight, when we humans are most likely to be active, it is demolished by most other 8MP, 12MP, 13MP, 16MP and 41MP cameras out there.

The HTC One is easily one of the best phones I've ever had and the best phone HTC has ever made. Coming from a long line of Windows Mobile devices by HTC I'm constantly impressed by how HTC Sense has evolved from its beginnings from just a launch screen. Sense now includes things like BlinkFeed which puts news and social media items you care about up front. As an owner of the HTC Windows Phone 8X, also a great device, I'm still getting used to the Android OS. It is helpful that the battery life is excellent compared to the 8X even in light of the gorgeous and bright HD screen and the fact that I usually have both the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios on. With the exception of devices that can have bulky extended batteries attached I have never seen battery life this good. The battery isn't removable so this is very important to me as I don't have the ability to keep spares to swap out. All in all, this phone is an excellent device all around and a really great first experience with Android devices. Making the transition could not have been made easier with any other device.

After 20 days of everyday use, here is my input on HTC One:
Who should get this phone:
- Music lovers, a must have for you
- Everyday-life picture snapshooters, the camera never fails
- People that care about their classic style
Who shouldn't get this phone:
- Photographers, get a DSLR camera instead. Not a phone
- Trend followers, you will never appreciate this device
- Phone torturers, this device is not for you
I upgraded from HD2 (Android Energy ROM) to HTC One and my conclusion is: Once again, good job HTC!

This is the best phone you will use right now, standard.
I work at the Carphone Warehouse and I get to play with them all before they even come out and whilst they are having the finishing touches. I loved this phone that much, when i got paid, I bought out my contract to upgrade early and how wonderful a decision that was!
The first thing I noticed was the finished design. The sleek curve of the back and the aluminium finish. It feels so perfect in my hand, and despite the size, it doesn't actually feel as big as it is. It is sturdy and very well built. Doesn't feel like you could snap it in half with the slightest bit of force (unlike the competitors)
When I finally turned it on after admiring the sheer beauty of it, the welcome sound was the cleanest sound I have EVER heard from a phone. It actually made me say WOW! out loud! and that was just for the silly little turning on jingle thing!
Once it was loaded up (which didn't actually take as long as I expected) I only had one thing on my mind, I NEED TO TEST THESE SPEAKERS NOW!!! So I went straight to YouTube! Pulled up a song by Converge (a hardcore metal band with lots of sounds kicking off at the same time) as I thought it would be perfect to check them out, chuck them straight in at the deep end. Boy did they blow me away! Full volume with no distortion, blasting out one of my favorite songs and I was hearing things I never heard on the song before, it was that clear. Perfect! With headphones in, you really don't need to put it on full volume, cause you'd be deaf by the end of the song lol! again amazing quality.
Now to the screen quality, clear, sharp colours and display, my mate didn't even realise I had a screen protector on and all the finger marks from me playing with it! That pretty much blew his mind alone! Not much else I can say on the screen other then spot on, well done HTC!
Now lets talk about the camera. Wow, the camera! I have tried it in every situation I can think of, outside in direct sunlight, outside away from sunlight, low light inside and out, a well lit room, and in a nightclub, and every single photo is brilliant. I took a picture of my mums kitten in low light inside, and you can make out each of the individual hairs on her fur. In the nightclub, my first picture didn't even flash, yet the picture was the same quality as most with a flash in the same situation. So you can imagine the quality when I say the picture with the flash was 10 times better still! Zoe is a great feature, taking 20 pictures and making a 3 second video at the same time, really like that.
Gonna sum up the rest quickly here cause I'm chatting on too much lol. Battery life lasts me all day and a little bit more (but I do charge it at night anyway) and I am constantly using it for music player, internet and playing games. Speed on the internet is very good, equal to all the phones with quad core processors, not had a YouTube video needing to buffer yet either.
Only little things are that the phone can get quite warm with excessive use, but to be fair, every phone has that problem and the lack of memory card slot may be annoying to people who put everything on their phones but for me, 32GB is more than enough.
All in all, the only thing I am able to say is, if you want the best phone out there right now, buy the HTC One!

I'll be honest. At first, leading up to the announcement, I was not expecting the then-rumored M7 to be anything that would blow me away. I assumed it would be a modified version of the One X that launched last year, with a slightly remixed design that incorporated things from the Droid DNA in a respun manner.
I don't think I've ever been that wrong before.
This phone is unlike anything I've ever used. I remember how it used to be that an all-metal phone was impossible. I remember how people used to say that front facing speakers were never happening. I remember how people used to say HTC was finished. With this single phone, HTC has destroyed all those notions in a single fell swoop.
It is only fitting that we begin with the metal unibody. Coming from an HTC 8X, this phone is simply something else. The metal body simply feels incredible in the hand. The razor thin edge leads to this incredibly ergonomic curved back that allows it to easily rest in the hand. Even though the edge is so thin, the grip is reassuring. There's this slight outward curve that means that if you try to pinch your fingers together, the worst that can happen is that it falls into your palm, as opposed to the inward curve of other phones that can send the phone flipping out of the hand. Every single design element seems to be thought out with incredible care. Something like the IR blaster, which is awkwardly placed on the Galaxy S4, is cleverly hidden on the HTC One to appear as if it isn't there at all.
The next piece of the puzzle is the display. I do not often lavish praise on displays, but this display is incredible. I would go as far as to say that it's the best display you can get in the smartphone space today. No other OEM has managed to get the incredible viewing angles that make it look as if the screen is painted under the glass. The resolution is so high that I cannot distinguish pixels no matter how hard I try, something that could not be said of the 720p displays of last generation. The colors are perfect, and calibration is the best in the Android space. Brightness makes sunlight viewing easy, something that could not be said of Samsung's OLED panels used in the Galaxy S line.
The next part is the camera. In low light, I am confident in saying that it is the best camera on the market today. Places like restaurants or indoors are where this camera simply blows away the competition. In night time, it isn't even a comparison. The One produces clear, bright images where phones like the Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5 simply give noise patterns. In daytime, while the resolution is not the best, it certainly can keep up with the iPhone and Galaxy S4 for the most part. The only place where it really falls short is for long distance landscapes, where the low resolution costs it greatly.
While it may seem like this is the only advantage, the biggest advantage is from the hardware optical stabilization and the HDR microphones. Both combine together to record incredible video footage, no doubt in part by the Ultrapixel sensor. Things like concerts are almost studio quality in sound, which is just incredible.
The dual front facing speakers make an immense difference in sound quality that simply has to be heard to be believed. There simply isn't any comparison. It is the best in the industry, bar none.
Sense 5 is really just a great improvement over Sense 4. The Zoes and Blinkfeed functions really make for a great software addition to Android, and they're features that can't be found anywhere else.
Overall, I can't recommend this phone enough. It's simply the best I've ever used.

Just so people do NOT get the wrong information, this phone does not last 36 hours or 2 days of usage as some keep on saying, the phones battery will last the whole day for sure depending on what you are doing but if that includes watching some videos and taking some pics etc you will be changing the phone every night as I do, wake up at 100% home 15 hours later at around 20% then kill the rest off and charge it up for the next day, it does do a far bettery job then the iPhone but it is no razer guys

The HTC One so far is the best smartphone in my opinion. If you don't have it simple go n grab One to experience the brilliance of it. This phone is actually a real definition of HTC's slogan "Quietly Brilliant.

I have the HTC One for two weeks now.
I'm a previous user of Sony Xperia Sola, Samsung S2, S3, and iPhone 4S.
Screen: Really best screen ever, Full HD resolution, you'd really love to look at it.
The screen size 4.7" in my opinion is the best size for a smartphone, neither small as an iphone nor huge as a Samsung Note.
Camera: I loved the photos I took using the One, Ultrapixel camera is good.
The Zoe feature is really great.
It takes 20 frames and 3 seconds video, you could choose your best shot easily.
Macro shots are comparable to photos shot using DSLR.
The camera interface is really fast, it takes less than a second to capture a well focused pic.
Low light photos are far better than any smartphone I used.
Audio: The dual front-facing speakers are of a best quality in terms of clarity and bass.
It's loud in a closed place.
When I'm outdoors it's fine.
Battery: I'm a power user, Wifi connected all day, Sync ON, an hour surfing, I use the phone to take photos and videos.
It takes 36 hours to reach the yellow zone "20%" of the battery, which is great for me.
Design: I love it's design. I didn't have any gaping issues in the metal construction.
The metal unibody is attractive to everyone who see the phone in my hands.
