You can do lot of things when you root the phone. As an example, you can over clock your processor, Install your own programs or run your own scrips, Install custom ROMs.
If you root your phone, warranty can be avoid and you have to setup manufacture updates manually. (Downloading update files and run separately)

HTC one is very good the design is 100% not plastic like other i so much love it .HTC&APPLE has what it takes to design a phone quality is100% not toy plasticbut real in the hand htc take it time to do it.This a must for people who know quality not quantity plastic Performance i give this phone 100% not sluggish very fast .Inshort this phone is super

Hope htc launches htc one plus in 8-9 months with marginal changes in specification but with 13 megapixel camera..would buy that.

But if you set it to run on 2G (GSM Only) or 3G (WCDMA Only), that would probably save your phone from exploding somehow and save your battery life too.

I had been using it for one day now and it has really big issues on overheating. It gots real hot while charging that u would plug your charger out to stop worrying about it exploding.

But it has 2 years warranty so you just get it serviced.
If it's out of warranty yoou can open it yourself or get it serviced. It's not that expensive. And by the time you get to a few years with the device there will be newer devices out there and you'll just buy a new one anyways ;)
