the 808 has the same 1.4micron pixels like other smartphone cameras, but not at 8mp, but at 41mp!! So due to the oversampling technology ("PureView") the 808 combines the pixels if you're taking smaller images (5 or 8mp) into even much bigger ones - so you'll have huge pixels with lower resolution. Or you Chose the other way - huge resolution (but smaller pixels). Anyway - best camphone by FAR = 808 PureView.

the judge, 14 Mar 2013Yes indeed specswise this ONE is a murderer. However i have... moreI don't know what you mean, but higher pixel density is always better compared to lower. Even though the difference from 440ppi is minor, its still a bit sharper. Sharper=smoother.

Yes indeed specswise this ONE is a murderer. However i have a question for real users. How does the overly pixellated screen of the ONE look? I hav the feelin that thins will be extremely sharp when viewed thus obstructing the enjoyment.
Should've been 400 or 420ppi since de screen wont be expanded to 5" or over.

what i saw here this morning might interest u. Just checked my feed this morn, Boy this "ONE" won the best smartphone in stuff gadget award thus Dethroning xperia z.
laughable, isn't it? make more noise abt the ultra p. Cam. The judge has spoken.

This phone has the best camera for indoors and talking closeups with friends and family.
Best for night photography and concerts.
I was little worried about the camera at first as it's hardware and design is top notch no doubt about that.
I'll be buying this phone for sure.

look at it something like the engine of a car...at same capacity let's say 2000cc you may have two types of engines(or more), one has 8(smaller) cylinders and one has 4(bigger). You still have the same overall capacity(just like the senzor size in HTC is the same with those you find in most flagships but they opted for the lower resolution 4MP and not 8 or 12 and bigger pixels). Now the first picture samples and reviews have appeared(soon GSMA will finish one:)) and the conclusion it's up to you if you like their direction and results.
"HTC has made a deliberate choice to focus on photo quality with bigger pixel size over just total pixel count. The 1/3’ sensor size on the HTC One is equivalent to the sensor size found on other 8MP or 13MP smartphone cameras.
However, UltraPixels are larger than ordinary pixels, and take up more space on the sensor. So there are less megapixels - the new HTC One takes photos at 4 megapixels resolution, but the quality of each pixel is substantially higher than the industry average."

Every single comment regarding the camera. This phone becoming a camera rather than a phone. HTC One camera is the best smart phone camera so far no doubt about it we can know it clearly when it was released.

Whatever the camera ONE may have but mark my words it will create a legacy as a phone overall just like desire previously. And main reason is its sheer presence in the hand , or kept on a table or where ever it is present
Let me remind u that HTC is a small company who made the rules for smartphone race rest all are the participants of that race.
I am not talking about the pros and cons of this device neither I am considered with amount of sales because people buy just by looking ads and others but there lies many hidden truth in ads. People just go with the flow without considering their own preferences.
