I was fortunate to meet a guy from HTC yesterday and he happened to have the HTC one. I’m a proud owner of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and I also user of the iPhone 4S (due to work).
The HTC One is an exceptional phone; beautifully crafted phone; every detail has been thought out carefully. HTC has really put a lot into this phone in terms of aesthetics and hardware. This phone sits beautifully in the hand and you can feel the quality. It blew me away. I haven’t seen a phone built to this quality …ever. I cradled the iPhone in one hand and the HTC one in the other. The iPhone felt cheap and pointless heavy compared the HTC One. No BS. HTC has built something special and it’s a winner. This phone has raised the bar for HTC and other manufacturers out here.

INTERJECTION: If you’re thinking I’m a fanboy of HTC, you’re wrong. I’m fan of good tech. As a consumer having loyalty to single manufacturer that doesn’t know me and only cares about my wallet is plain stupidity.

There’s nothing on this phone I would describe as a simple ‘gimmick’ – a lot of the new features make sense. The biggest change to the Sense UI is Blinkfeed; an interface that feeds you with information at a glance. You could say its one huge widget. As smart phone user, I want information at my fingertips and at a glance (it’s the reason why I have a smart phone) – so having to click on an icon not knowing what I’ll present, doesn’t make sense. The home screen on my phone is saturated with widgets, so I can see what’s out there and if it takes my interest, I can dive right into it. Blinkfeed will serve be beautifully.

The little things that HTC have done to the phone, that a big difference:
    • The 4 ultra-pixels camera – I know there’s a lot of mixed feelings about this, but I’ve seen it and its f-ing amazing. Don’t listen BS out there
    • The 4.7 inch, full HD 1080p, LCD 3 screen. One word …beautiful
    • 2 GB of DDR RAM – there are a few phones out there with it, but I’m glad has it too
    • Dual frontal stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers – makes sense, right? Why have it in the rear facing the wrong, which 99% of phones do
    • Smart Flash: Five levels of flash automatically set by distance to subject. Clever
    • Gallery with Video Highlights – this feature is so much fun
    • HTC Zoe – you need to see to believe it
When you handle the phone and see it in action, you’ll know what I’m on about.

AnonD-77852, 13 Mar 2013The most shifty reviews come from Joshua Topolsky's office.... more"There's a lot of noise thanks to the lower pixel count at times, but the range of light levels you get to shoot in compared to other camera phones is excellent."

"And the photos we took looked stunning at times on the phone screen, which HTC says is where most of them stay - which we agree with to a degree. However, on the computer screen things are oddly different, with higher exposure and some loss of detail."

"We've noted some criticism of the HTC Ultrapixel system already, and yes, if you really care about photos on the go, working hard on scene composition all the time and fiddling with the exposure chances are you won't want this phone. Ultrapixels work well enough, but there's definitely a lot more to come from the technology."

but you should read the full review and see the samples they took with it so that phrases I quoted don't look as if they were taken out of context, or as if I had anything against this phone. I think it's gorgeous although not original but I don't like the hype around the camera which is not that impressive

He'd sell his own mother if the money was right. I don't trust their reviews. Engadget is way better and professional. Might want to check Aaron Baker's review on Phonedog as well. He does great reviews.

HTC? sorry, I don't trust cheap marketing from any company, I wait for the results to speak for themselves and the reviews have started to come out. You should check them and then make a statement like that...not to mention next year HTC will make a camera with only 2MP and humongous pixels but they will also give you a magnifier to look at your photos...

AnonD-77852, 13 Mar 2013An in depth review by Engadget. In short, even though i... more"That's all nice to have, but it doesn't change the fact that the pictures I took on the One just don't look very good. Sure, shots are bright and colors are good, but it's clear noise reduction processing is running roughshod all over the photos you take, leaving them soft and mushy even in good lighting. Nothing looks sharp or crisp, no matter the situation. Things look fine at Facebook or Instagram sizes, which HTC is clearly betting is all you need, but when you zoom or crop, photos lose a lot of their luster. I like the shots I'm able to get with the One's camera — I've started taking more pictures in dark restaurants, or on the street at night — but I'm not always impressed with the shots I get."

"Here, the problem lies with the camera. Maybe I’m in the minority when I say I care about the quality of my cellphone images, but I do, and the One just doesn’t deliver. Its battery life is also disappointing, though I’m not as concerned about that – it’s just a fact of life at this point."

                BAD STUFF
                Mediocre camera
                Poor battery life
                Sense still has some issues

                http://www.theverge.com/2013/3/11/4086390/htc-one-review

so it's 1 - 1:) and pictures taken from both sites doesn't look impressive at all or a step forward, it's ok for a phone but you would have expected more from a flagship

An in depth review by Engadget.

In short, even though it's not perfect and we'd love to be able to get more detail from zoomed-in shots, the One's UltraPixels methodology appears to be completely sound. We're confident enough in its quality, in fact, to declare the One as our new go-to camera.

That 4mp UltraPixel camera is way better than most 8-13mp cameras out there. Never saw how a 5mp DEDICATED digital camera took better photos than a 8mp phone camera? Same principle, just on a phone :)

This is a great promo video. It's about the device and tells you all about the main features. It is almost exactly how the official promo should look like. Different theme and ambiance with real live footage. Great!

For me, I'd love blinkfeed as I really love to read Google Currents. Also, it's convenient to post facebook status/twitter on my homescreen. Also, I don't use excessive data so my battery would last a little longer. I'm sold.

This phone's design looks just like Iphone5,the home screen looks just like windows'live-tiles and last but not the least it's operating system is of course Android. So it won't be wrong to say this phone is a mixture of all successful features you saw till now, from all successful brands;inevitably going to be a huge success.
