Does the dual sim functionality makes the sim card active at the same time? like you can receive text message or call on either of the two sim without worrying about swapping or interchanging an active network? thanks!

Let me make some observations on 4G. Airtel is the only one offering 4G and in select cities: as usual, Bangalore will be the preferred one for initial implementation. Now, the issue is about HTC One E8 working on 4G. Airtel says they don;t support this device yet: it simply means that the device settings are not available from their end. That leads us to one point: will Airtel work on letting HTC One E8 work on their network? Perhaps yes. There are many device manufacturers who have released and even sold by the thousands, 4G/LTE on their handsets. Airtel will most certainly address these device user needs. But time is the only issue. Many other operators will start operating on different bands and offer 4G: so we will all have a choice to move on to other networks.
But the big question is, why am I not able to select an option of "enabling 4G" on my HTC One E8 handset? I called the HTC support centre and they were clueless initially: they went on explaining all crap about Airtel not supporting the device etc. I countered them with several questions, which set them thinking: the final answer I received was that once Airtel ensures compatibility of HTC One E8, the option of choosing to "enable 4G" on the handset would automatically come up on the device. (!!!!!!!!!!!) I was stunned!!!!
I did some searching around and my final answer is this: HTC released an update for HTC One M8 this week. That update perhaps threw up the option of selecting "4G Connection" in the device (I saw a YouTube video on this, and hence I can confirm that there is this option). I am yet to hear from users of HTC One M8, if they are able to connect to 4G on Airtel after the update. However, HTC Support centre guys don't want to comment if there is going to be a similar OTA software update for the HTC One E8.
Now, I hope I have clarified to all on this issue and if you still have any further questions, or know better than me on this issue, please feel free to post.
Let's hope HTC is reading this.

AnonD-296611, 20 Aug 2014Hello
htc E8 a nice feature phone...
htc one M8 has a on... morethe Dot View case works with both HTC One M8 and HTC One E8: but note that both have separate part numbers: which means that the same case cannot be used for both. I bought the one for M8 thinking it will work, but had to return that. Also, please note that no accessory for E8 is available on the net, stores and anywhere.
Finally, HTC seems to be treating HTC E8 customer needs as lowest priority: no one is willing to speak about the connectivity on LTE, accessory etc. Though a great phone, you may be slightly upset about HTC's insensitivity to the needs of their customers who gave up premium Samsung Galaxy S series phones to go to HTC One E8.
HTC, ARE YOU LISTENING???
